Bad and Skeppy approached the door to go in, but hesitated to enter. No one wants to be around a fighting family. Skeppy pressed his ear against the door, to get an idea of what was being said. He didn't hear everything, but he heard enough.
"How could you do that?!"
"It's just a way of life, Dream!" The queen's voice shouted.
"She's bruised, and not a little bit! She's only 14, what the hell?!"
"Enough! Be quiet. You can't understand princess duties Dream. Princesses have their roles, as do princes." The king ordered Dream to stop yelling.
"No this is too far! You wanted to send her away for bad behavior, but you caused it! Do you think she's a robot or something? She has feelings and emotions too you know! Just because she's a kid, doesn't mean she's putty for you to mold."
"Dream, Why do you think girls are weaker than boys? It's simply because they are supposed to be molded. Into a perfect young lady. Then they can go marry a man, and help him take care of his land." The king declared.
Dream laughed, which frightened Skeppy a slight bit. Anybody that laughed when they were mad, was really about to snap.
"You think she didn't just tell me why she's been acting out?! She spilled everything to me, and I can't believe you! I know she's not lying, because she's upstairs now crying!" Dream's voice reached a different volume. Skeppy felt like Puffy and Sam could probably hear it from their castle. Though, that would be a bit of an exaggeration.
"What could she have possibly told you that is unacceptable?" The king remained calm. As if yelling would make him look guiltier.
"She told me that the reason she stabbed you, was because you tried to drown her! In the sink, while she was doing the dishes! You told her that because none of the princes were showing serious interest, you didn't need her."
Skeppy heard someone get up, and move. He assumed it was the king.
"DREAM! this is enough! Stop shouting at me immediately, and go off wherever you go."
Skeppy finally opened the door, and quietly walked in with Bad. They weren't noticed, so they stood silently. Not wanting to get dragged into the argument.
"Fine! I'm going, and she's going too." Dream stormed off somewhere else in the castle. After a minute Bad and Skeppy heard him speaking to Drista upstairs. Quite loudly since he was so pissed off. They only heard Dream's side of the conversation, but assumed Drista was replying to him.
"We're leaving, come on."
...
"Come on, don't cry. I'm sorry, come here."
...
"Breathe Drista, breathe."
...
"I'm not trying to scare you. We're going to go visit George, okay? You like George right? He's nice to you, and bought you chocolate that one time."
...
"Yeah, you can bring whatever you want. Just be quick, we got to go."
Skeppy guessed that Dream had thrown helping them out the window. He was selfishly a bit mad over that. Even though he needed to understand that Dream and Drista had their own problems. They weren't just going to sacrifice themselves for him.
"Should we... interrogate him about my sister?" Skeppy whispered.
"Are you insane? The boat is already rocking. We do not want to sink. If we start something now while the king is already mad, we'll end up at the bottom of a lake. I say we leave, and try to hire professionals.
