This chapter is slightly shorter, but it's important that you read until the end, and interact. It'll influence the story greatly.
Skeppy and Bad went into town to shop. They wanted to bring Jackie, but didn't feel comfortable with that yet. They still had a guard with them.
They got a few sly looks as they went around the shops.
"What did you want to get?" Skeppy asked his husband.
"I'm craving candy." Bad eyed the candy shop across the street.
Skeppy rolled his eyes, but was happy that Bad still desired things. "Of course you are, let's go get you some candy." Skeppy took his hand and walked in with him. The guard trailed behind.
Bad looked around at all the candy, having a difficult time picking. I don't know what to choose..."
Skeppy looked around. "They have gummies shaped like hearts."
Bad smiled "awe, that's sweet."
Skeppy noticed a section of unicorn themed candies. "Oh my god- Jackie would lose her mind here."
Bad nodded, still trying to pick what candy he wanted. "Buy her something, not too much though. Don't want to let her have too much sugar. She'll be bouncing off the walls."
Skeppy picked out a bag of purple gummies in the shape of unicorns. "She gets that from me."
"I know, you're not allowed to have any." Bad joked. He felt temporarily at ease right now.
Skeppy pouted. "Jackie will share with me behind your back."
"I'm sure she would."
"She would" Skeppy smiled.
"Does she...like me?" Bad finally picked out some peach flavored gummies.
"Yeah? She's just scared of trusting people. She gets nervous around me sometimes too. Don't worry about it." Skeppy assured Bad.
"Okay, I really hope she learns to accept my love. She's the only kid we have now."
"She will, I'm sure she will."

Once the kings returned, Skeppy went to spend time with Jackie. Bad went to sit in his library and read some letters they've gotten.
He sifted through the letters until one caught his attention. It was in a black envelope, and gave Bad an unpleasant feeling.
Bad took the envelope and opened it quickly, giving himself a paper cut. "Ouch-" he sucked on the paper cut to stop the stinging. Then unfolded the writing. After only reading a couple sentences, he dropped the letter. How could the universe be so cruel, he was already going through so much.
Dear King Bad,
I'm unfortunately writing to you with a funeral invite. My son Micheal has passed away, and I'd appreciate if you could attend. I know it's been years, but I still hope you remember us. The funeral is September 5th.
Sincerely, Ranboo & Tubbo
Bad sniffled and put the letter aside, he didn't think he could handle a funeral right now. Especially not for a little kid. He sifted through the letters, finding one with a green envelope. "Oh, Dream?" He opened the letter, expecting Dream wouldn't have heavy news.
