- Heidi's POV -

Winter looked so different, she had changed. Her hair had every shade of pink you could think of and her tail was now extremely glittery. She looked beautiful, when does she not though?

The crowds on the beach were booing and calling my dad innapropiate words while I was being held down on the wooden floors of the boat by him.

"Why did you do that?! I caught her this is all your fault!" He screamed before slapping me across the face. His friends pulled him off me and held him back.

"What're you doing? She is your daughter!" One of them shouted. I struggled to get up then ran to the other side of the boat, not even thinking about what I was about to do. Without any thought I dived off the side of the boat, plunging into the ocean.

The salty water began to burn my eyes as soon as I opened them. I spun around to see a beautiful mermaid swimming towards me and giving me a huge hug.

This was happiness.

- Winter's POV -

I held Heidi tightly in my arms just like the time she almost drown. Over her shoulder sat everyone from the reef once again, they were all so shocked to see me with a huge smile on my face.. and of course because I was hugging a random human.

Then suddenly through the crowd of merfolk my father appeared. He didn't look angry or upset at the fact I was in love with someone who wasn't my kind, or at the fact that I was over rebellious and a bit of a bad daughter. Instead he smiled widely at me and watched me with my happiness.

After a minute I remembered that Heidi can't breathe under water..

I swam up quickly to the surface and she took a huge breath and laughed.

"Why didn't you tell me you needed air?!" I said nervously.

"Because, I didn't want that moment to end" She said happily. I hugged her tightly again not even realising that there was lots of humans watching and that the object with the bad men was right beside us.

Suddenly the crowds began to clap and cheer again, Heidi let go off me and looked back at them in confusion. Each and everyone of them were looking at us with smiles spread across their faces, it felt magical in a weird way.

"Get her!" Heidi's dad shouted again, but the men just stood there. One of them had water coming out of his eyes and I was very confused.

"How can you break up a friendship like this?" The heavily built tough one said before wiping his eyes. Heidi laughed. She has never looked this happy before.

The way she had never let go off my hand since the moment I hugged her tightly, or the glisten in her eyes and the wide smile on her face. It was more magical than the crowds or the magic I had. It was real magic.

Does where we are from matter?

What we look like matter?

Who or what we love matter?

All that matters is if you are happy. If you are happy with yourself then you can do anything.

And if you are not happy with who you are or what you do, then change it. It can be a hard process but when you're a mergirl like me who wanted a change I definately got it. And it was the greatest change I could ever make.

This also goes for love. If you love somebody who cares about what others think? It doesn't matter who or what they are, if it's love then it's love.

And this is definately love.
