Chapter Six

- Summer's POV -

My eyes opened slowly to lots of unfamiliar sounds. I glanced around seeing that I wasn't in the water but in a glass cage. Outside it there were humans walking around with masks and gloves on, I was locked in and hooked up to millions of machines.

My tail was bone dry which was making me feel unwell because if a mermaid is fully dry they could possibly die.

"It's awake!" A woman shouted and suddenly lots of strange faces were looking down at the tank I was in.

"What are we going to do?" One of them asked.

"Well we have already done most of the tests. Just put her in the water tank for now" Another answered. Where am I?

- Heidi's POV -

Another day waking up and dreading school. I don't have any friends in my class at all, I'm actually the class target.

"Mum can I have money for the bus?" I asked while eating an apple.

"I gave you 20 pounds yesterday! Use that!" She shouted before slamming the door in my face. I sighed.

I guess I'm not going to school! I didn't want to anyway.

Dad was out in his fishing boat constantly, he was searching for more mermaids. He is always on the news and is being talked about all over the world.

I walked out of the house and down the street thinking of places to go instead of school.

"I'll go to the beach" I thought.

As soon as I got to the sand I threw off my shoes and ran down beside the water where the rocks were. I sat on one and stared out at the ocean.

- Winter's POV -

It's been one day since Summer was took by the humans, me and Autumn are still locked in the cave. Father won't let us out at all, I wonder where he is staying because he can't get into the cave?

"I miss the daylight" Autumn said while staring up at the ceiling. I was pacing around the room, I couldn't take this claustrophobic cave anymore.

"I need to find Summer I need to save her" I mumbled repeatedly to myself.

"You're not going after her! You'll get hurt" My sister shouted at me, I stared at her angrily.

"It is my fault she got caught, I could've got her out!"

Autumn ignored me. I clenched my fists, swam to the cave front door and began hitting it and yelling.

"Let us out!" I shouted over and over. There was no sound from the outside.

I hit it forcefully with my fins and cracked the edge of the door, but I really hurt myself.

"Ouch!" I yelped while grabbing my tail and staring at the bright red marks.

There was a small whole in the corner of the door, I felt like I could get through it.

I swam back a few steps then speeded towards it quickly.

"What're you doing!" Autumn screamed behind me.

"Saving Summer!" I shouted before smashing open the door and being outside the cave. I was covered in bruises but I didn't care.

I had to find my sister.
