(David's POV)

"I don't see why I should welcome him with open arms, mother."

"Relax darling. He promised there will be no harm going on."

I stood there,dumfounded as I looked at the giver of my life. She was beautiful, her weapon to achieve what she wanted all the time. I felt honored having such a beauty as a mother but that itself brought a lot of troublesome.

"I don't care about me, he knows he can't beat me. I meant harm to the pack."

She snapped her eyes at me. "Why would you care about the pack?"

I needed time to think about whether it was necessary for me to tell her about Charlotte and that I was the new alpha. My mother was capable of doing harmful things, and most likely would be aimed at Charlotte's famiy. I wouldn't, couldn't let her hurt them. My problems were with Charlotte,not with her family. Since her brothers didn't have the same mutation as her, they were no harm.

"David?"

"They will be mine eventually, aren't they? I need to protect my future pack."

"Of course you do! And that's why I have brought Johnson here."

"I really have no desire to talk to him."

"Oh honey."

She wrapped her arms around me,leaning her head against my chest.

She could be cold,intimidating and sometimes even heartless but I still had to take care of her since she was my mother. Although I didn't support some or mostly all of her ideas...I still loved her.

A figure walked into the library, hesitating by the entrance. Her cute suppicious glare made me laugh all the time. She was ready to say something but took it back as I leaned down and hugged my mother back.

"I'll talk to him alright?"

Seline loudly cleared her throat, making me start chuckling but caused my mother to turn.

"What is it Seline?"

My mother sharply asked.

"Mother."

"Sorry darling, I forgot how you have a liking to this girl. Seline? "

"Beta Johnson is waiting for you outside."

"We'll be there in a minute."

Seline bowed without leaving, making my mother furious.

"What? You have another business to be here?"

"I wish to talk to David, ma'am."

"About what?"

"I'll discuss with you later Seline. Beta Johnson is waiting mother."

She grinned as she took my arm in hers. Seline bowed once again as we passed besides her.

"You are sooo going to pay for this David darling."

She warned through my head.

"Depends on what mood I'll be in after this chat with Johnson. I'll take your punishment depending on that."

"Damn Johnson."

"Go tell your father I'm here ."

"I already did. He'll be here in a bit."
