Madison's POV

One morning, a few days after the tragic disappearance of my husband, the police came in our home.

From the look of their face, I can see that it is sad news.

"Officer, what's going on?" I asked.

"They found a man's body, it's in pretty bad shape ma'am. But we found this on his pocket" the officer replied.

He pulls out a Ziploc bag with Charles' phone inside.

"That's my husband's phone" I started crying. I started crying.

"No, it can't be him!" I started screaming.

"We're so sorry, ma'am" the officer said.

The news of Charles' death came to everyone in his family.

We all met in the morgue where Charles' lifeless body was in. It was really sad, all people tried to comfort me.

"Madison, right?" Charles' Uncle said.

"Yes" I replied.

"Charles is a really good man, just like his dad. It is very sad for all of us that his life was cut short" he replied.

"Yes he is, and I am very lucky that I had him" I replied.

Charles' cousins were right beside me, holding my hand and keeping me going.

"There are no other reported missing people except him. Then the body found is him" someone whispered.

Camilla arrived later, she looked for me. She stood in front of me for a minute before slapping me.

"You killed him, you did this!" Camilla is really angry. I started crying.

"I wish I am the one who died, I would die to save him." I replied.

After a while, we all got inside and they showed us Charles' body covered in white cloth.

"This is his body, we cannot show it to you because it really changed because of the long time he's in the water. It seems like he died of drowning. "The coroner said.

"I want to see" I told him.

"I swear Mrs. Newman you will wish you did not ask for it" the coroner said.

"I think Charles don't want you to see him like that" his Uncle said.

I nodded and started crying. I held his hand that is covered by the white cloth. I cried and cried. I just can't believe he's gone.

The lawyer took care of everything like what Charles instructed. He will be cremated, and a funeral will be held with only family members.

He also instructed that the news must not be a part of everything.

After that, I am eager to know that truth about how Charles ended in the water. And Alfred must've known something about it.

I tried to reach out to him, but sadly, Alfred is in coma. He hasn't wake up for since the night he was admitted at the hospital.

Forty days after Charles' death, the lawyer called everyone so we can know what's in Charles' last will and testament.
