Madison
When I woke up, I looked around trying to convince myself that last night was another dream. But then I burst in tears, knowing that William's left or is he still here?
I wiped my tears then I rushed outside my room hoping he's still there.
"Mom" I said as I saw my mother holding my daughter in her arms.
"Madie, you look in a rush." she said.
"Is William still here?" I asked her.
"He left early this morning." Mom said. I suddenly couldn't move.
He's gone.
He's gone.
"Why are you looking for him?" Mom asked.
"It's nothing Mom. " I told her as I walk straight to the kitchen.
I just thought about one thing, the goal was to end what we have and it's clear I've reached that goal. But a part of me really wanted him, and I felt like what's next is going to make me feel miserable.

William
I am not myself when I left Madison's home. I felt like I am dumb trying to convince myself that maybe she and I could be something. I regret calling her the moment I stepped in Hartford, I just hope I'll be over it.
When I got home, my Mom and Dad welcomed me with the warmest hugs.
"You being away felt like a year." Mom said as she kiss my cheek.
"Your mother and I are lonely without you. So tell us, how's your trip?" Dad asked.
"It's good. I've bought so many antique books for the store." I told them.
"Let me see" Dad replied.
I opened my back and took out old books from the Book Fair. I believe that classics will attract more people and collectors in our bookstore.
"This is a first edition To Kill a Mockingbird." I said as I hand him over the book.
"You did great son." Dad said.
"Well, I'm tired from my trip back here, I'll be going upstairs." I told them.
"Rest well, son" Mom said.

ONE MONTH LATER
Camilla
"I told you, she lost her son in this town about a month ago. We just need to find an evidence to support this claim, then maybe my case against her will be stronger." I said to Luke who seems hesitant of coming with me in New London.
"Camilla, you're taking this too far." Luke said.
"Be honest with me, do you still have feelings for Madison?" I asked her. I always doubt Luke whenever he defends Madison.
"Here we go again, unbelievable!" Luke sounded pissed whenever I ask him that.
"Just admit it, you're on her side." I told him.
"I'm not. I am in the middle of this. I know Madison for many years and what you tell her does not make any sense at all." Luke said.
"You are on her side like always, I am the one who lost a mother and a brother. I lost my family, because of her!" I am angry.
"Just go back in Hartford, you're just making me mad." I told him.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'll be here to make sure you will not do something foolish." Luke said.
I didn't respond to him, I just walked inside the police station to ask questions.
"Excuse me, I'm Camilla Newman, I just have a couple of questions." I told the police officer in front.
"Newman? Oh it's pretty familiar to me." the police officer replied.
"About a month ago, my nephew went missing in here. His name is Alexander Maxwell Newman, do you remember that?" I asked him.
"Camilla, let's go." Luke said.
"I'm talking to the police officer." I told him.
"Yes, I remember. That kid who ran from his grandma." he police officer replied.
"I heard he was found that evening? Is that true?" I asked him.
"Yes, he went at a bookstore as I recall." the police officer replied.
"What bookstore?" I asked him. I can maybe dig more information with that.
"The Spencer Bookstore close to the gas station." the police officer replied.
"How did you find him there?" I asked the police officer again.
"I don't know exactly, but the bookstore owner might tell you." he replied.
"Alright, thank you." I told him.
I walked back to my car, and Luke is still following me like a dog. I like him a lot, but I just can't forget all the things I've been through just because of that.
"Are you going to that bookstore?" Luke asked.
"Yes. I am." I told him.
I got inside the car and left him knocking on the window.
--------------------------------
I arrived at the bookstore that the police officer told me. I am just disappointed to see that the bookstore was closed. I am not lucky today.
"Miss?" A lady spoke.
"Will this bookstore be open today?" I asked her.
"I don't think so, the owners have a bit of a problem." the lady replied. I really need to speak to the owner, I don't have much time left.
"Where can I find them?" I asked her.
"Patricia!" An old man appeared.
"Henry, this lady's looking for you." the lady said to the old man.
"How can I help you?" The old man said.
"I would like to ask questions about the boy who went missing and was found at your bookstore about a month ago." I told him.
"Oh that, you should ask my son. He should remember that." The old man replied.
"Where is he?" I asked him.
"Well..." The old man said.
------------------------------
The old man accompanied me to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. I stepped out of my car and followed him inside. We got inside the elevator, and he is going to the 3rd floor.
"What happened to you son?" I asked the old man.
"It's not my son, it's my wife who's here." the old man replied.
"What happened to her?" I asked him.
He didn't say a thing, when we arrived, we just walked into a room. There I saw an old lady lying on the bed, and a man sitting next to her.
I couldn't believe it.
"Charles." I said my brother's name.
He is here.
