"Are you really serious about coming with me?" I asked Charles again.
"I am serious." He reassured.
"We'll fly tomorrow" I told him.
"I'll take care of everything." He said.
"Alright." I told him.

The next day
I told my Mom to take care of the kids for the time that both Charles and I will be away. I just hope they will be alright without me.
Early that day, Charles and I got inside the car to go to Vermont.
"Who's in charge of Elmyra then?" I asked him.
"Jeremiah, I called him last night." Charles replied.
"Yeah, he will be alright in there." I told him.
We passed by Elmyra.
"We just passed by Elmyra." I told him, I am surprised.
"Yeah, I just saw." He replied.
"Aren't we suppose to be getting in the chopper to go Vermont?" I asked him.
"Oh, yeah about that. I forgot that I own a chopper. Instead I.... booked a flight to Vermont." He said. He seems to be surprised about it too.
He really forgot about owning helicopters or jets or private planes.
"Alright then" I told him.

He booked us in the second class. Not even first class, but that's fine. I miss being simple. Both him and I didn't caught much attention because we look domestic.
"You know I'm not getting used to the rich stuff." He whispered to me.
"I understand, it's fine." I told him.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm not that 'rich' for so long. I'm not devastated about not going on a private plane or what. And besides, I need more time to think before I finally sign the papers about Alfred." I told him.
"Do you want him to live?" he asked me.
"Of course, I want him to live. Not because, I have something with him, but because I believe everyone deserves to be alive. He is not a bad person, I think and he may know what exactly happened the night you... you were gone." I told him.
"I've heard about it, but I don't know exactly what happened." he replied.
"Nobody knows besides him" I told him.
"Maybe I'll remember." he replied
"I wish you will." I told him.

When we arrived at the airport, my phone rings. It's an unknown number.
Me: Hello?
Caller: Good day, is this Mrs. Newman?
Me: Yes, this is me, speaking
Caller: I am Dr. Hackenson, Mr. Nolan's doctor.
Me: May I know why you called?
Caller: This morning, Mr. Nolan did something unexpected. He opened his eyes!
Me: Really?
Caller: Yes, Mrs. Newman. But we are not certain whether he responded on his own or because there had been problem with his nerves. We would like to run some tests before we proceed to the original plan.
