"We're leaving tonight." Charles spoke the moment we arrived at the apartment.

"What about Alfred?" I asked Charles. We can't just leave him too quick.

"He will be alright, we'll keep in touch with him. I will keep in touch with him." He told me.

"I guess we can go back after a few days. I already miss the kids." I replied.

"Me too. That's why we have to leave tonight." Charles replied.

.............

Good thing, Charles took care of the helicopter. We arrived home shortly.

------------

It's late, but I still have the energy to look at my children. They are all sleeping peacefully.

When I am on my way back to my room, I saw Charles still awake.

"I just checked the kids. I'll try to call Alfred tomorrow, maybe he can tell us anything" I told him.

"Don't." he replied.

"We can at least try." I replied.

Charles' expression started to change. He seems to disagree about reaching out to Alfred at all.

"Don't you want to know what happened? Alfred is the last person who can tell everything." I added.

"I'm no longer interested." Charles said.

I can sense something's up.

"Is there something I should know?" I asked him.

"Nothing. It's getting late, you should be sleeping by now." He said.

He started walking away from me. But I can tell he is hiding something.

"Charles, wait." I walk to him wanting to know what he's not telling.

"I told you, it's nothing. Let's not try to  figure out what happened to me, because it doesn't matter anymore." He said, he sounded mad.

"You wanted to know what happened to you, then now you don't? Charles, please tell me if there's anything going on?" I begged him.

He didn't say anything.

"Charles" I said his name.

"Alfred knows, he remembers everything. He just won't tell." Charles said.

Alfred knows.

Alfred knows!

But he won't say a thing...

"Why won't he tell us?" I asked him.

"He wants you in return, so now you know why I don't want to know what ever the fuck happened." Charles replied.

"I don't want to tell you, but you wanted to know." he continued.

"What will we do now?" I asked.

"Nothing." He said.

"But we need to know." I told him.

"Madison, there's no way to know " He replied.

"I'll talk to him." I said.

Charles touched my arm.

"Don't talk to him." Charles replied.

I started crying. Tears started falling from my eyes.

"We need to know, I.... I need to know. I was just gone for a minute, then you're gone!" I told him.

"Madison..." he said my name again.
