Chapter 8: To more sunset with you
I'm feeling a little bit exhausted after the exam. Though I should be more excited and happy because finally we're done! But it feels like I am carrying a bag loaded of ton making it hard for me to take a step.
"Where do you wanna go?" Jaehyuk asked while we're packing our things up. Unlike me, he looks a little more fresh. Something like the-exam's-done-it's-time-have-a-good-time look. Or maybe he's just handsome? I don't know I wish we share the same energy right now because I honestly just want to have some rest.. Or to go somewhere peaceful and just relax.
"Home." I lied. Because he doesn't have to know that I'm going to meet Jeongwoo today. As promised yesterday. The thought of him alone is making me excited. Something inside me tickles by just thinking about his handsome face and boyish smile.
"Boorring." He commented, rolling his eyes. "Let's go to the club?" Just what I thought, he's really after fun. Always.
"No. I can't. And will never. I just want to go home and relax." I lied again. But I hope Jeongwoo will take me to a place where we can both relax.
"Ugh! Why are we even talking, Asami. You're so boring. What about you Jungsoo? Bistro 99?" I've been hearing that name from them. It must be a very popular place among university students. However, Jungsoo doesn't seem to care because she's apparently busy texting someone.
"Nope. I have a date! And he's here. Bye, idiots!" Jungsoo, who was busy texting seconds ago is now running away from us to meet his date.
"What the hell?" Jaehyuk said, certainly surprised. His eyebrows narrowed while watching Jungsoo smiling towards Soobin.
"Yeah. She's at it again." I said nonchalantly.
Students are continuously leaving the campus, either looking exhausted or excited—because finally exam's done. Definitely, I am one of the exhausted students. However, when I saw Jeongwoo standing obliviously beside a street post near our school gate, the clouds forming in my head was drawn to the corner. And then the sun shines.
"I'll go this way. Take care of yourself, Sami." If there is one thing I like about Jaehyuk is that despite of being a jerk, he's actually a caring and sweet friend. And I will not trade him for that. He messes with my hair before he walks to the other direction.
To my excitement, I hurriedly walk towards Jeongwoo. Oh he's so tall, unless you know him, you will never know that he's only sixteen. When he saw me approaching, he casually waved his hands and smiled a little bit. Which I strangely find very attractive for being reticent.
"Hi!" He greeted me with his smiling foxy eyes. "How's your exam?"
"Exhausting." I huffed. Trying to look convincing so I can see some expressions to his face.
"Give me your bag." But even before I could resist, he's already pulling it off from my shoulder. The next thing I knew, he was carrying it already. This is what I keep telling myself. If he continues doing things like this, I might as well stop holding on to my feelings. "We're going somewhere. Come with me."
I don't really have any concrete plans for today, but Jeongwoo seems to be prepared for this. And I was really surprised when he takes me to the beach. I was just thinking about it a while ago because beaches often make me relax, and now we're here. The waves are crashing, but the ocean still brings us a soporific wind. It was so beautiful.
