Two weeks is all that it takes for Senia to get settled in with the members of the Crow Club. It wasn't easy. They were already thriving without her and now she feels as though she had yet again stepped inside a world she doesn't belong in. But the difference from this time is that this world, is willing to take her in and that world, The Unsea is not so welcoming.
Her accidentally discovered ability as a Grisha wasn't so bad. There was no one in Ketterdam to guide her, no one to tell her how and when to manipulate her power.
So what she did is base it on her instincts, once again she was gambling with her life.
From what Senia knows, Healers are Grisha of the Corporalki Order. They can utilize their ability to manipulate the human body in order to heal wounds and injuries.
Aside from that, Senia knows absolutely nothing. Now, she feels as though she wasn't doing her best in terms of trying to get back to Ravka to see her friends once again.
There was nothing stopping her from returning except for the fact that she was now a member of the Crow Club and that she was probably thought dead by the people she knows from home. Home.
She would not be surprised to know exactly that when she attempted to court death by going through the Unsea.
But what of Mal and Alina? The other people from the skiff, did they even survive? And that bright light she witnessed.
Ever since that day, all sorts of happenings emerged and it was completely out of Senia's knowledge. Well, maybe she knows a bit. From that light as bright as the sun, she can only guess that it was the works of a sun summoner.
Sun summoners was a myth told to them by Ana Kuya back in Keramzin but if you'll look at it this way, Grisha was once a myth and now she is one.
"Kruge for your thoughts?" Jesper joined Senia in her seat inside Kaz's room.
"What?" Jesper asked confused when Senia hold out her palm to Jesper without even bothering to look at him.
"The kruge? and I'll share with you my thoughts." Senia shifted her eyes to Jesper and a smirk graced her busted lips.
"That's the spirit. Anyways, I think you've gone too far with your daily endeavours." Jesper talked slowly as he touched Senia's busted lips which earned him a loud smack at the back of his head.
"I'm testing out my abilities."
"By testing out, you mean getting beaten and healing it yourself? Never pegged you for a sadist Senia." Jesper laughed loudly.
Senia glared at Jesper and continued to concentrate on healing her lips. She doesn't know how but when she tries to think of it, command the matter inside her, the flesh heals itself. It was a wonder when she had only a bit of practice and now she's moving at a steady pace.
"Would you look at that? Good as new." Jesper shifted in his seat beside her and played with his pistols pretending as if someone was in front of them as his target.
"Where are Kaz and Inej? It's close to nighttime already." Senia couldn't keep the worry from her voice despite being with them for only two weeks. These people have welcomed her more than the people of Ravka did with her being an otkazat'sya, the abandoned, and her appearance similar to their northern enemy.
"They should be back by now."
As if being summoned Kaz entered the room and Jesper gets out, probably for a drink. Senia continued to observe her surroundings when her hearings caught Kaz's loud thumping heart and another one incoming, Inej.
Another thing, Senia didn't remember of a healer being able to do those a Heartrender can. It explained how she can hear the heartbeat of those close to her but it doesn't explain her hearing the heartbeats of those she cannot see and the strength it was presented at.
It was confusing and terrifying at the same time. She knows she's a Healer, based on what she did less than a day after the incident at the fold but what confuses her the most is how she can manipulate the body of another person at will.
She did it once outside the fold. In Novokribirsk.
Instead of questioning if Kaz is either excited or nervous about her presence she preferred to stay quiet, waiting for Inej to arrive bearing news for their new quest.
Senia's two weeks stay with the gang had helped her to memorize the pattern of their heartbeats and with the help of something she can only describe as peculiar.
There was once again, a whisper on her ears directing her to do certain tasks and understand more of what the eyes cannot see. Many times she was right to follow it.
