"You look fine." Inej remarked when she saw Jesper checking his self in the mirror.
Jesper laughed egoistically, "Oh, I look more than fine."
"I made some edits to their papers, should be enough to get us through the checkpoint and onto the skiff." Kaz arranged the papers and Inej beside him to double-check his work is thorough.
"Huh. No one is ever going to believe I'm that old." Jesper looked at the paper and grimaced at what is written on it.
"You tell yourself that." Jesper accepted his fate and snatched the paper from Kaz's gloved hands.

From night to morning. Ivan has filled Senia in on what she had missed her whole life. The power there is to the small science, the magnificence that can only be appreciated by those who can truly see it, the wonder in having control of what runs in your every being, the power of every Grisha there is but most of all what makes an individual so similar to another yet so different. Small Science is exactly like magic and Senia is basking on it.
Ivan had been her confidant through that little time. They both have formed an unbelievable bond through their views and likeness.
Senia couldn't be happier with what she had learnt through little time. Could not be more thankful to Ivan for having her mind elsewhere rather than on her sorrows.
"You're good." Ivan complimented the Grisha beside him as they walked on the dusty grounds in search of the General.
"I think that is the first sincere compliment I've got from you." Senia said with a chuckle, she looked beside her to see Ivan's lips twitch upwards for a bit before shaking his head and looking dead straight ahead.
"Might be the last." Ivan groaned and quickened his pace when he spotted the black kefta a few steps ahead of them.
Senia is reminded why they are actually outside the combine of their tent. Mal has escaped sometime at dusk and they are expected to report every little change to their Darkling.
"Sir. The tracker has escaped." Ivan said immediately trying to match the pace of General Kirigan, all three of them haltered in their steps.
"What?" Disdain evident in his voice as Senia saw him clenched his fist tightly.
"Sometime last night. We have a team looking for him." Kirigan nodded and looked at Senia who's beside them when she spoke.
"If he flees, good. If he's anywhere near Miss Starkov put him down." Ivan nodded from his orders and Kirigan walked away from them.
For a second, Senia stood still from what she heard. Can she do that? fear starts to display on her face when Ivan looked at her.
She's afraid that she might really do it if she's already doubting herself and her friend. She felt bile start to rise in her throat but swallowed down as if it's nothing, she can taste it in her tongue, disgusting.

"I know. I looked amazing for my age." Jesper boasted a devious grin on his lips.
"Well, I thought you looked older." the clerk in front of him fired back not really interested, and handed him back his papers.
The air blew carrying with it the sands which made everyone squint their eyes but when they saw the Sun Summoner together with General Kirigan exiting their tent murmurs and not-so-quiet whispers began to circle the area.
"Reckon I'll ever be this famous? To have the power to make everyone around me talk just from my mere presence?" Senia turned to look at Ivan who seemed unaffected by her question. Both of them facing the other when Ivan looked deadpan into her grey eyes a smirk on his lips.
"From a scandal, maybe." His smirk widens, even more, when he saw the pale girl's cheeks blossom into the colour of their kefta and glared at him.
"You're the insufferable one." Senia groaned and turned her body and gaze away from him. She was beyond shocked to recognize three faces in the crowd clad in dark clothes that make them blend well in the bustling area.
Senia glared one last time at Ivan which earned her a raised eyebrow, she played it off cooly and started to march their way. When she was close enough to them she saw their shocked faces too, well-hidden behind their hats and collars. "Follow me."
Senia walked farther from the Summoners tent and away from prying eyes and listening ears.
She looked at them one-by-one an unreadable expression on her face, they were all surrounded by silence. Not until Inej jumped in her place and onto Senia to embrace the girl in a much-appreciated hug.
Senia breathed out slowly, sobs forming in her throat but she swallowed again. She looked from Inej's shoulders to see Kaz and Jesper looking at her with a mixture of wonder, regret, and euphoria in their eyes.
"How the fuck did you survive that?" Jesper asked suddenly, Senia widened her eyes from hearing Jesper's words which shocked her to the core.
She then smiled goofily at the boy, she parted with Inej's warm hug to stand in front of Jesper. Hands at her sides and face looking up to him. He was a tiny bit taller.
"Why did you even doubt me?" She chuckled softly and jumped in his arms her feet wrapped around his waist as he breathed in her scent which he missed greatly.
"In spite of what Jesper did, I never did doubt you." Kaz said from beside the duo, Senia turned to him while still in Jesper's arms. She reached for Kaz's head where his hat is and took a hold of it. Senia ruffled his perfectly done hair.
Their silence remained after that. All four of them basking in the presence of one another. This feels like home, even if home is in big old cold Ketterdam. They'd like to go back.
Sadly, nothing lasts forever and time will catch up to them no matter what. For now, silence is all that they need before proceeding to march into the loud clapping of thunder from the fold heard from the distance.
