"You alright boss?"
Jesper asked when he saw Kaz walking towards him just as Inej have gone away.
"I've been warned off the job." Kaz utters pinching the bridge of his nose with a shadowy look on his face.
"By who?". "Who do you think?"
Jesper narrows his eyes at Kaz, unsure of his next words.
"Did he remember you?"
"If he had, I'd be dead." Kaz gritted his teeth. The events from a while ago replaying in his head causing his face to reflect an even darker look, his thoughts on the Grisha resting inside his room.
"Sunrise is in five hours."
"Yeah, but we're off the job now right?"
"Never make decisions out of fear Jesper. Only out of spite. And have you forgotten already? We've got a new crow on our side."
Kaz's voice trailed as his clouded eyes scouted around the club.
"Well, greed always worked for me." Jesper grinned mischievously.
"Go guard the door."
Kaz looked at his man signing for a woman counting her money in a suspicious manner. The woman was brought to Kaz's office.
"I don't understand, I wasn't cheating..." Kaz continued to taunt the woman. Saying that she cheats and kept track of what's being played. In the end, Kaz took some money from his vault and demanded the money count it.
"Where are you from?" There was a hint of delight in Kaz's eyes as he looked at the woman who's sitting uncomfortably, shifting every second on her seat.
"West Ravka. Os Kervo."
"West Ravkans count money from one hand to the other, but people out east who work for the mines in Sikursk,"
Kaz's eyes glimmered as he smirked.
"...they count like you do."
"I am from West Ravka!"
"West Ravkans don't mention the "west" part. To them, there's just Ravka and the old country."
