Chapter Twelve: Battle and Decisions

While Colby and Dean tried their best to keep the rangers under control, Katrina was searching for Alter Ego, trying to figure out where his next attack was going to come into play. She arrived at the park at the same time the dark angels appeared around her. Her eyes widen as she knew that she had found alter ego, this was her chance to prove that she could handle a battle by herself and quickly started to launch into battle. She fought and knocked each of the dark angels onto the ground doing her best to keep her senses on high alert. Though, because her fellow rangers were not themselves, she found that she was starting to lose and was tossed onto the ground. The dark angels began to surround her ready to attack.

"Well," says Alter Ego, causing Katrina to follow the sound of the voice. Alter ego was walking toward her this time with a sword in his hand. "Looks like there's only one ranger," he continued. "Where's the rest of your friends? Are they killing each other yet?"

"You demon spawn!" says Katrina who was trying to stand up. "You did this to them, change them back!" she exclaimed.

"Gee, I would, but without the rangers it will be easy for us to steal the colt," said the monster.

"If you don't change them back, I swear that I will..." Katrina didn't get a chance to finish as the monster laughed evilly.

"You'll do what? Destroy me?" He said with an evil smirk. "Sorry silver ranger but I don't go down that easy," suddenly Katrina started thinking deeply everything around her had been falling apart, her friends were in danger all because she felt that she missed being on camera and singing. But that was all over now, her new mission was right before her; Lucifer may have sent a monster that could make people take on their darker personas but that wouldn't stop her from fighting for what she believed in. Finding the strength to carry on, she got up from her spot and felt new strength spread throughout her body. Holding her ring to the sky she transformed into the silver ranger and began to fight the dark angels knocking them down and destroying them, seeing her opening she summoned her weapon and began to shoot at Alter ego who kept trying to knock the arrows out of the sky.

Each moment she struck, he had started to feel overpowered and tried to launch a counterattack, when that didn't work, he dodged her weapons but no matter how many times he dodged, the weapon would always strike him. Smoke appeared on his body as he flew into the air and landed on the ground. Katrina landed in front of the monster with her bow in hand.

"I think it's time that you learned a lesson," says Katrina. "Silver bow, crossbow mode!" exclaims Katrina as she swung her bow and it turned into a crossbow.

"Oh no," says Alter ego. "Can we talk about this?" Katrina jumped into the air and pointed the crossbow directly at the monster.

"Crossbow, final attack!" she yelled and shot at the monster. An arrow flew through the air and hit Alter Ego in the chest. He cried out in pain as Katrina landed on the ground gracefully behind her the monster had completely exploded and hoped that with the monster destroyed her friends would be back to normal. At the bunker before Mark and Sean were about to kill each other they felt a wave of clarity hit them throughout their body. Followed by Sam and Tara, they groaned as they stumbled back and looked at each other.

"What the?" says Sean. "Mark? Why am I about to attack you?"

"I don't know Sean, but was I about to kill you?"

"Beats me,"

"That's great that you guys are back to normal, but Katrina needs your help, the monster has just grown to the size of a giant,"

"Right," says Mark. "Let's get going guys!" back to normal, the four rangers raced to the park where the monster was the size of a giant. Katrina was already in her zord and she was having a hard time trying to defeat it. Seeing the situation Sean, Tara, Mark, and Sam morphed into action and entered their zords. The monster was holding onto Katrina Zord like she were a football.

"What are you going to do now silver ranger? You can't move," laughed alter ego though, she suddenly heard movement in the air. "What?" To her surprise the red falcon zord was flying overhead.

"Hey Katrina!" yells Mark. "Need a hand?"

"Mark!" she exclaims as Mark put his power into his falcon zord.

"Falcon zord, blast!" he exclaimed as a bright red beam shot out and hit alter ego in the chest causing her to release Katrina, now freed, Katrina met up with her teammates as Colby spoke into their rings.

"Rangers, we've finished programming the zords and now you can call out to them to form the Lightning Strike Megazord,"

"Thank you, Colby," says Sean.

"Let's do it," responds Mark.

"Zords, combine!" exclaimed the five rangers as the zords began to transform into a megazord. "Lightning Strike Megazord, Ready!" in the cockpit of the megazord the rangers were united and placed into one section, Mark, Sean, and Sam being in the front, while Kat and Tara were in the back.

"What?!" exclaims Alter Ego. "It doesn't matter how big you rangers get that won't stop me from mopping the floor with you!" with that, Alter ego attacked the rangers as they began to fight back. Lucifer watched in shock, Dean and Colby had taught the new rangers how to form the megazord and he knew that things would get ugly. The battle raged as the rangers struck the monster. The monster stumbled back.

"Your through!" says Katrina.

"Summon Lightning Axe!" exclaimed the rangers.

"Oh no," says Alter Ego, "this isn't good,"

"Lightning axe, final strike!" the Axe was held into the sky as it was struck with lightning fully charging it. Alter ego could barely move as he felt the axe cut straight through his body. Stepping back, the rangers watched as the monster exploded.

"Monster, defeated," spoke Katrina. When the monster was no longer a threat, they dimorphed as their zords headed back to their hiding places. Remembering that she had to go film a music video the rangers took off back to Sam's house where Katrina's producer walked over to her.

"Katrina? Where have you been?" says the Producer. "We've been here all day and we're burning daylight,"

"Sorry," says Katrina, "I had something to do," she continued. "But I also want you to know that for right now this will be my last music video,"

"What?" said the Producer in shock. "Katrina? What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I can film this music video but after that, I'm going to take a break from music," her friends heard what she was saying and were surprised, Katrina wasn't surprised herself; she knew what she was going to do. Her ranger duties came first before anything, even though the producer didn't like it he humbly agreed and told her that whenever she was ready, she could come back. They proceeded to film the video with Mark and Sean in it as well, whatever happened she wasn't going to give up being a ranger. That was just to dear to her, and she loved spending time with her friends even if it meant that they were fighting monsters together.
