Chapter27-Never Okay

Mia's P.O.V.

"Get in a circle and kill them as they come. You guys bang on the fence to get them out of the way." Rick instructs as we get into position to kill the walkers. I started banging on the fence as Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Momma, and T-Dog went to kill the walkers. "Hey! Over here!" We yelled at the walkers as we banged on the fence. "Hey!" We yelled as they started killing the walkers. I stabbed some of the walkers in the head with my pole Glenn had given me for this job and pulled it back. Blood ran down the pipe "Oh isn't that delightful?" I ask sarcastically. Carl laughs as he does the same to a different walker. We continued doing this till all the walkers were dead and Rick got to close yet anther one of the gates we had to close which was a gate for the basketball court. I wipe my hands that were full of walker blood from the pipe on the grass we were standing on. "Yep please go away discussing red gooey blood." I say and Carl smiled at me. He pulled me up from the grass and kisses my lips. "Now what?" I ask as I see Rick and all enter the prison to see if it's safe. "Well now we gotta wait here till they come back babygirl" Carl says. I sit down in the green grass and Carl follows me. "So.... I uh.... I love you. You know that right?" Carl asks. I look at him a little nervous because usually when guys say that it means something bad happened or they wanted the nasty and he is NOT getting any of that any time soon! "Uh..... what did you do or what do you want?" I ask. Carl sighs "I just..... i have a question." Carl says and grabs my hands. "Do you love me?" Carl asks. I nod "Well of course I do Carl." i tell him. "Well uh.... i just..... i don't know you know what its uh..... it's stupid never mind." Carl says with a frown "Baby..." i whisper and scoot closer to him "Tell me whats wrong." i say softly as i place a hand on his knee "Ill just tell you tonight" Carl says. "No Carl tell me now." i demand softly. "Mia, Carl lets go." Lori tells us as T-Dog let us in. I look at Carl "We need to talk later." i stand up and walk over into the big tall gray prison with Carl behind me and my things in my hands. It was so big and looked so safe. "What do you think?" Rick asks as everyone walks in "Home sweet home." Glenn smiles. "Is it secure?" Hayes asks. "This cell block is we don't know about the rest." Rick says "and the rest of the prison?" Pawpaw asks. "In the morning we find a cafeteria, and infirmary." Rick explains "Will we sleep in the cells?" Nanny asks. "Yeah." Rick says. I smile "I call the one at the top all the way to the left!" I say and run up to the cell. Everyone went get a cell and i smiled at mine. It was gonna need a lot of touch ups but it will still definitely do! I dropped my bag and laid down onto the bunk that was in there. "Oh my god i missed this!" I smile with eyes closed as i sink into the mattress. I hear foot steps from outside the hall "Hey new neighbor." i hear Carl say. I open my eyes with a smile. "I got the cell next to you. Our parents said we can sleep in the same bed and all but we should still probably have our own cells." Carl explains. I nod as he sits down next to me. "Now can we talk about earlier?" I ask Carl as he lays down next to me. "Im scared to tell you." Carl tells me truthfully. "Carl don't ever be scared to tell me anything!" I tell him. Carl nods "I just....i still get scared that you will stop loving me." Carl says and looks at the blanket that was on the bed. "Carl how many times do i have to tell you i will never stop loving you?" I ask. "I love you." i say and kiss Carl's lips "So much" i say and kiss Carl's lips agin. "And don't you ever forget that." i kiss Carl's lips on last time. "I love you and i always will." Carl smiles "Okay. Yeah I'm sorry it just creeps into my mind sometimes you know." Carl says and i nod "And when that happens you tell me and i swear i will shower you with love just to prove how much i love you." I tell Carl. He smiles more "Mia get Hershel please!" I hear Lori say from a few rooms down. She sounded scared. I ran downstairs "Hey Lori wants to talk to you Pawpaw." i say. "Everything okay?" Rick asks. "Yeah." i say. Me and Pawpaw ran to Lori's room. "I think i lost the baby. The baby hasn't moved or anything. At first i thought it was from being tired or lack of nutrients but i just don't know." Lori says quickly. She started freaking out and saying what if the baby died and ate her from the inside which if the baby turned into a walker inside of her is technically what would happen...... Dang thats scary! "Lori that wont happen. It's probably just stress." Pawpaw says. "How can i not be stressed? Carl cant stand me and Rick..... i don't even know anymore." Lori says. That was true. Lori for some reason was really getting on Carl's nerves lately but i don't know why. Maybe because he is growing up and Lori still treats him as a four year old still sometimes. I dont know. "Lori Carl loves you a lot." i tell her. Lori nods "Just get some sleep." i tell her. Lori laid down and i ran downstairs to see Carl looking through some guns and armor the prison had with the rest of our group. He put on one of the helmets which was entirely to big for him. I giggle as it falls off his head. "Shut up." Carl says with a smile. I take his sheriff's hat and put it on my head. "Lookin good kitten." Carl says. I smile with a blush. "Okay were gonna go check out more of the area, Carl stay here watch the rest of the group and lock this gate once we leave." Rick explains as they walk out if the cellblock and into anther "Yep." Carl says and locks the gate. "Be safe." i tell momma, pawpaw and Glenn "Will do sweetie." Momma says. Rick and all went off "Give me my hat." Carl says and takes his hat off my head which sends my hair to go all over my face. "Well that wasn't very nice." i pout as i fix my hair. Carl and Hayes started laughing. "Im sorry Mia." he laughs. I saw Lori looking at us with a faint smile. "Carl can i uh..... can i talk to you for a second in my cell?" I ask. Carl nods and runs up there with me. "Whats up with you and your mom? She thinks you can't stand her." I say. Carl shrugs "I honestly can't anymore. She treats me like a five year old still!" Carl complains. I sigh "Look just deal with it till the baby comes. Your mom is really stressed Carl and it's not good for the baby." i explain. Carl looks at me with worry in his eyes "Is.....is the baby okay?" Carl asks. I nod "Yeah Pawpaw checked her and she is fine." I tell Carl. Carl sighs in relief "Okay ill try a cope-" i cut Carl off "You will cope do you hear me? This baby needs to be okay and if your mom stresses to much everything can turn to hell so make it okay." i hiss. Carl nods and i smile "Good." i say cheerfully. Carl raises an eye brow "Your scary sometimes." he says and i smile "Thank ya!" i say and kiss his cheek. "Now what?" Carl asks. I shrug "I don't know." I tell truthfully. "How bout you and me go lay down till dad comes back and just talk." Carl suggest. I nod and run up to my cell."No! You get that butt of yours in my cell!" Carl says as i walk out of mine "Why?" I ask. "Because i want you to use the pillow next to mine so it smells like you so every time you have to do something i want you i at least have your scent." Carl says. I smile "I dont know if thats a sweet, funny, creepy, or weird thing but i guess ill do it." i say with a smile. We laid down on Carl's bed and he had his head laying on my stomach with his legs hanging off the bed. "Do you think it's possible to have a normal life in this world?" I ask Carl as i start to rake my hands through his hair. "I don't really know babygirl." Carl says as he rubs his thumbs over my hip bones. "Its just sad. Ive always wanted a normal life." i sigh "A baby, a husband,grandchildren, a car, a house." i go on and Carl frowns. "Well mom is having a baby and if this place is safe when your older Im sure you can." Carl reassures me. "And then you can definitely get married." Carl says then bites his lip. "When.....when you get older..... who do you want to do all this with?" Carl asks as he looks me in my eyes. I shrug "I was hoping you know.....you." i tell him truthfully.Carl smiles "Babygirl i would be honored to give you all of that and even more when were older." Carl says as he brings his hands up to the back of my shirt. He lifts it up and starts to draw little symbols on my back as I lay down on the side of him. Carl kisses my shoulder "Carl i didn't know you were so sweet!" I hear Hayes gush "It makes me want to puke." Hayes says as he walks into our cell. "Forget you Hayes! That was a cute moment with my baby." I say and Carl smiles as he pulls my shirt down. "What do you want Hayes?" Carl asks as I throw on of my legs over his. "Im bored as fuck!" Hayes whines as Lori passes. She slaps him upside the head "Language boy." she says sternly and walks away. We laugh as Hayes rubs his head "That hurt" he frowns. We laugh more. Hayes sits on the floor in front of me and Carl. Carl starts to play with my hands "So i heard what y'all were talking about...... um you guys haven't uh....the whole..... how do i put this..... you two haven't like...." Hayes pauses and i shake my head quickly "No no no no! We were talking about the future not now! And when i mean future i mean a few years from now." I say with a nod. "Yeah Hayes thats never happened." Carl explains. "Okay good because your WAY to young for that." Hayes says. Me and Carl nod letting him know that we knew we were to young for that stuff. "So..." Hayes says. "So?" I ask and then hear Carl's name being yelled "Carl hurry!" I hear momma yell. Something was wrong i could tell by her voice. I grabbed Carl's arm as i sat up and he ran downstairs. Just when we thought everything was gonna be okay. How stupid am I? Nothing is will ever be okay. It never is okay.
