Chapter43-More Time

Mia's P.O.V.

It's been about two weeks since everything happened. After that day Rick told us Andrea got bit at WoodBury and that she was now gone. Also Carl got his gun taken away and wasn't happy about that what so ever. He isn't doing so well with the whole having to act as friends thing ether. He still tries kissing me sometimes and asks to cuddle every night. I hate to tell him no but I have to. I still need time and so does he. He is a jerk to everyone but me. Carl has definitely gotten better but he is still a jerk at times and is such a smart ass. "Babe- i mean Carl you got anything I gotta wash?" i ask. Carl smiles "I miss you calling me that." he tells me as he puts his dirty clothes in the basket I was holding. I nod "Yeah i miss a lot of that stuff too but we still need a little longer to be apart from each other I think." Carl nods with a frown. "I still love you." Carl tells me. I shake my head as I put my dirty clothes in the basket "Carl your not making our situation any easier." I tell him. Carl sighs "It's just....hard. I know what I did was wrong Mia! Why do you keep punishing me?" Carl asks. "Punishing you? Carl I'm not only doing this for you im also doing this for me. You needed time to clear your head fix your attitude and I needed time to just figure everything out." I say as Carl takes the basket from me "Ill uh....ill help you." Carl says. I nod with a smile "Thank you." I tell him. Carl brings the basket outside to where we wash and hang our clothes. We used a big tin thing to wash our clothes in. Carl placed the basket down and started washing clothes with me. "There are a lot of new guys." Carl says. I nod "Yeah there are." I look over to Carl as I wash his shirt "Any uh......any caught your e-eye?" Carl asks. I shake my head with a small smile "No Carl none of the boys have caught my eye. I have my eye on one guy and one guy only and thats you Carl, you know that." I tell him. I look back at the clothes i was washing "Theres a lot of new girls. Any caught y-your eye?" I ask. Carl shakes his head "None of them compare to you Mia. I'm not leaving no matter how long you make me wait." Carl tells me. I smile and then frown as I see the girls walk outside. They walk towards us "Hey Carl!" One of the girls Jessica says. I roll my eyes. These new girls always threw themselves at Carl and I hated it. "Hey." Carl smiles as he washes my jeans. "So I was thinking me and you could hang out in my cell later alone?" Jessica asks. Carl looks up at Jessica then shakes his head "I rather stay with my girlfriend." Carl says. Jessica sighs "But you two are on a break!" Jessica points out "Doesn't mean we stopped loving each other Jessica!" I snap. Jessica scoffs at me "You love him? Doubtful! All you do is treat him like a friend! You give him no love at all!" Jessica says. "Jessica get away! I know she loves me and its my fault were on this break! You have no clue what I did Jessica, it wasn't good.A break was honestly what we needed for me and for her." Carl says. Jessica rolls her eyes "Whatever." she says then runs away with her little friends. Carl and I stayed quiet "Shes been all over you..." I whisper. "Yes and I hate it. I hate girls throwing themselves at me unless its you then its okay." Carl says. I smile "So sweet aren't ya?" I ask with a giggle. "Yes baby I am." Carl says with a smirk. I frown "Don't call me that." I shake my head as i furrow my eyebrows. Carl frowns "Sorry." he mutters. Rick walks outside and smiles at us "Anything new?" Rick asks. I knew he was hoping one of us would say "Yeah! Were back together and love each other more then ever!" but that wasn't going to happen yet. Carl shakes his head "Not at all." He says then walks to the field that we have cleared out. We repaired all the fences and made sure they had something sturdy holding them so now you could go out to the field and it would be safe. "Mia how long will you continue this?" Rick asks. I ball my hands up into fist "Until I'm ready Rick! Its still hard! I love him I do! You know that but I just think he needs more time, I need more time. " I say. I shake my head and walk into the field. No one understood. Everyone keeps pushing me and pushing me to "forgive Carl" which makes me mad because its not all about Carl its also about me! I needed this break because i need to think about my perspective on the world just like Carl does! Im getting older and I understand a lot more things a lot better now so my perspective on everything is sorta changing too. Not like Carl of course but it is changing. Thats why I need some time to myself to think. I walk over to Lori's grave. "Hey Lori." I smile as I kneel down in front of the grave. "I just wanted to come tell you whats been up. Judy is growing. She's such a beautiful thing. Getting better at holding her head up, a lot better. She's finally starting to grasp things and puts everything she can in her mouth and so much more." i say with a smile. "Carl and I are still friends. He wants us to be together together again but I still need time and I think he does too." I sigh. "Im staying with him for you Lori. I promised I wouldn't leave your boy and I promised to love him for ever, and thats what I'm going to do." I see Carl on walker duty "We miss you, but he honestly misses you the most." Carl looks at me and I smile slightly. He shakes his head and goes back to killing walkers "He's pissed at me now." I chuckle "I have to go. Ill see you later Lori. Love you." I stand up. "So this is Lori's grave?" I hear my new friend Patric ask from behind me. He was a boy from Woodbury.Patric was a good friend of Carl and I's now. I nod "Yeah this is Lori's grave. Carl's beautiful mom." I smile. "He loved her so much." I inform Patric. I look up to see Carl watching Patric and I. I wave my hand signaling for Carl to come over. Carl sighs then starts to walk over to us "What uh.....what are you guys doing?" Carl asks as he scratches the back of his neck. I shake my head "Just seeing Lori". Carl nods. "Yeah you seem to come out here quite a lot to see her." Carl smiles at me. I shrug "She was like my mother. I love and miss her" I tell Carl. "Wheres Hayes and Beth?" Patric asks. "Probably making out." Carl smirks. I hit his arm "Carl!" I laugh. "What it's true!" Carl laughs. Hayes and Nanny started dating like last week and have been inseparable ever since. Its cute to see them together. "I would love to hang with you guys but I gotta go get Judy from Carol." I say. "Okay bye." Patric says. "Bye Mia." Carl says. I smile "Bye Pat, bye Carl." I say then run inside to get Judy. On the way I bumped into someone "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" Me and the person say at the same time. I look up to see a boy with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was extremely handsome. "It was my fault. I'm so sorry. Im uh Dillion just came here from Woodbury." The boy smiles at me. "Well Im Mia it's nice to meet you Dillion and it was honestly my fault." Dillion smiles at me "Well uh Im kinda lost.....do you think maybe you could help me?" Dillion asks. I nod with a smile "Of course!" I nod "Well you see I think you can help me. I had my cell next to yours and I still don't really know where it is all I remember was its next to yours." Dillion says with a slight laugh. I smile "Its this way but I have to get Judith first." I say and walk with Dillion to Rick's cell. I smile at Judith who was looking around the room in her play pin "Hi Judy!" I say. Judith looks at me and smiles as I pick her up. "Shes your sister?" Dillion asks. I shake my head "No my boyfriend Carl's sister." I say. Dillion nods "So you have a boyfriend?" He asks. I nod "Yeah but were taking a break right now because of some......complications that happened in the past." Dillion nods then we walk to his cell. "Got any family here?" I ask. "My mom thats it." Dillion tells me as we approach his cell. "Mia what....what are you doing?" I hear Carl ask as he walks up to me and Dillion. "Oh I ran into Dillon and he asked me to bring him to his cell because he forgot where it was." I explain. Carl nods "O-Okay." He eyes Dillion carefully. "So Mia do you think we could hang out?" Dillion asks me. I open my mouth to say something "She has better things to do." Carl says quickly then grabs my hand. "Come on Mia you have to take care of Judith." Carl says. I yank my hand away "I can take care of Judy and keep Dillion company at the same time." I say. Carl shakes his head "But I wanted to hang out with you" Carl frowns. "Well we can all hang out together." I suggest. Carl wraps an arm around my waist. "Carl.." I whisper. "Friends can do this." He whispers to me. I roll my eyes and slip out of his arm. "Lets go to our cell" I say. Carl follows close behind me as I walk into our cell. He was jealous of Dillion. I could tell. I sat down on my bottom bunk with Judith as Carl sat down next to me and Dillion sat on the floor. Carl took Judith into his arms and kissed my cheek. "Stop." I fuss Carl. He frowns "So what do you think of the people over here?" I ask Dillion. "Your people are so nice! You and Beth are the only cool chicks here every other girl is a bitch." Dillion scoffs "They think they are all hot and shit. Bitch please your uglier then a piece of shit. I would honestly never tap a single one of their asses." Dillion says. I start laughing "Oh my gosh yes! Jessica annoys the crap out of me! She is always wanting Carl and I hate it!" I tell Dillion. Dillion shakes his head "She is such a bitch" I smile as I lean my head on Carl's shoulder. Carl lays his head on top of mine "You don't have to worry about her. She is nothing compared yo you." He tells me. I smile "Keep this up and be good to everyone you may have me back soon." I tell Carl. His smiles gets really big as Patric walks into the room. "Whats up?"Patric asks as he sits next to Dillion. "Welp I think these two are bonding more and more as they speak and hang out...."Dillion says. Patric looks at Carl and I and I blush. "Well thats good because Carl wont freaking shut up about how he is dying for you two to act like a couple again. Always going on about how he misses your cuddles and misses your kisses and oh my gosh it is annoying as fuck!" Patric says. I giggle "Well we are just gonna have to see how everything goes around here and maybe if everything is good you wont have to miss those things any more." I tell Carl. He smiles with a nod. Judith looks at Carl's hat and grabs onto it then starts to chew on it. "No no no babygirl. Thats bubby's hat. We cant eat bubby's hat." Carl says in a baby voice as he places his hat back on his head. I loved when Carl called himself bubby when he was talking about himself to Judith. I found it extremely cute. Judith's bottom lip started to quiver and her eyes started to water. "Now you did it bubby." Patric says. Dillion and Patric laugh as Carl smiles. "Shut up you two!" He says as I take Judy. "Judy it's okay. You just cant eat Bubby's hat." i tell her. Judith lays her head on my chest. Carl kisses her head as she yawns. "So Dillion who did you come here with?" Carl asks. "My mom." Dillion says. Patric smiles "Mrs.Cassie is nice." He nods. "Is that your mother Dillion?" I ask. Dillion nods "Patric stalked me back at Woodbury." Dillion smirks. "Did not! If anything you stalked me!" Patric says. "So you two guys were friends even before you came here?" Carl asks and Dillion nods "Yeah Pat was the only one i ever hung out with." Dillion says. "Explains why your both nerds" I joke. Patric slaps my leg lightly"Ow!" I laugh. I look at Carl "You wont do anything?" i ask him. Carl shrugs "What do i do? Beat him to death because he slapped your leg lightly?" Carl asks with a laugh. "Exactly!" I joke. Everyone starts laughing "Your such a bitch sometimes!" Patric says. "Well thank you! Now if you don't mind i need to put Judy to bed." I say as I stand up. "Im going bring her to her crib." I tell the boys then quickly bring Judith to her crib. I lay her down then cover her up with her pink blanket. I then ran back up to the Carl and I's cell to see him laying on his top bunk with a comic book Michonne got for him in his hand. "What are you reading?" I ask as I walk over to the bunk. "Batman." Carl tells me. I smile and giggle "My lil nerd." Carl smiles at me. "Shut up Batman is awesome." I smile at Carl "Im gonna change so keep those eyes on your comic book!" I point my finger at Carl. He smiles "I promise my eyes will be glued on the comic book." Carl says. I smile as I walk over to my bag and pull out some shorts and a t-shirt. I quickly change and turn around to see Carl was still reading his comic book. "Okay all done." I say. Carl looks at me "You going to bed?" He asks. I nod as I walk over to the bunk bed and place my hands on the bars that ran along the top bunk. Carl rolled over onto his side as he closed his comic book. "Be a sweet heart like you are and put this in my bag please?" Carl asks as he hands me his comic book. I nod as I take the comic book. I put it in Carl's bag then walk back to the bunk and Carl grabs my hand. "Can we cuddle yet?" Carl asks. I sigh "Just a little bit more time Carl. Thats all I need then I promise we can cuddle all you want." I tell Carl. He nods and so do I. I close the curtain that covered Carl and I's cell door way since we cant close the cell door. Rick doesn't allow anyone too unless your suppose to be locked up in the cell. I run back to the bunk and lay down on mine. My hands grab onto my blanket and I pull it up to my chest. "Good night Carl." Carl hangd his head over the side of the bunk bed "Good night Mia." Carl smiles at me "I love you." he says. I guess its okay to say you love him Mia. I mean you did when you two were just friends so whats the difference of doing it when you two are on a break? "I love you too Carl." I smile. Carl smiles brightly and lays down on his bed. Rick walks into our cell "Good night you two, and thank you for putting Judith down." I nod "Night Rick." "Night Dad" Carl and I say. Rick smiles "Carl you have a huge smile on your face. Why?" Rick asks. "Because The girl I love told me she still loved me about five seconds ago." Carl tells his father. I smile as Rick smiles at me then nods. He walks away and cover my body with the blanket I had. "Ill see you in the morning beautiful." I hear Carl whisper as I close my eyes. I blush and smile. I couldn't help it. It still gets me every time he calls me something sweet like that! Im really happy Carl is being nicer to everyone and improving in everything. Just a little more time and I honestly think Carl could have me in his arms again.
