Chapter37-Memories

Mia's P.O.V.

"Carl, Mia come on get up. We have to go somewhere." I hear Rick say. I hide my face in Carl's chest with a groan as Carl grips my waist. "Where?" Carl yawns as he rubs my back lightly to try and get me up. "Home." My eyes fly open. That word got me up from my slumber for sure."H-Home? As in...the old Grimes house?" I ask. Rick nods then leaves our cell. Carl smiles and quickly gets up "Come on Mia get up!" Carl runs around the cell grabbing the clothes he had in my cell frantically. He threw them on "Carl calm down." I say as I stand up. I stretch as Carl grabs clothes from my bag "We gotta go." Carl hands me my clothes. He waited impatiently for me as I put on my clothes. Carl stared at me while tapping his foot on the floor. "Carl would you stop staring and waiting! My gosh it wont help me move any faster babyboy." I laugh slightly at him as he stares me down waiting for me to hurry up. Carl sighs "Im sorry i just.... I wanna get home" I smile and kiss Carl's cheek "I know babe. Look I'm done i just need my gun then ill tell Momma and all bye, after that I will meet you at the car if you want." I tell Carl. He nods "yeah after I do a few things." Carl runs out the cell. I smile as i shake my head "You going Mia?" Momma asks as she walks into my cell "Yeah I am. I promise to be safe and stay right next to Carl and Rick at all times Momma." I reassure Mom. She nods "This is your first run so be careful, always on guard at all times you hear me?" Mom asks. I nod as i put my gun holster on then my gun in it. "Got it." i hug mom "Love you." "Love you too sweetie." I smile then quickly run downstairs. "Going on your first run Mia?" Daryl asks. I smile "Sure am me and Carl both and to the best place ever!" I say happily. "Where?" Daryl asks. "The one and only Grimes house and of course im gonna make a stop by my Uncle and Aunts which is next to them, just to check it out." i explains. Daryl nods "Just be careful short stack." I giggle "Will do Dixon." I run around quickly to do everything else i needed to quickly do to leave like eat and brush my teeth which was it. I go outside to see Carl waiting by the car "Took you long enough" Carl says. I frown "Gosh...Mia I'm sorry i didn't mean it i just...Im sorta anxious to get home." Carl sighs. "Hey you shouldn't be the one who is going crazy. I should." i smile Carl as I wrap my arms around his neck "And why is that?" He asks. "Because i didn't get my good mornin kiss from my boy." I mess with Carl. He smiles and kisses my lips. I kiss him back "Okay come on lets go." Rick says as he opens the passenger car door. Rick slips in and Michonne slips into the drivers seat, which meant me and Carl were in the back of course. Carol opened the gate then Michonne drove off. "Why isn't Hayes coming?" I ask. "I need someone from the Grimes family to watch the prison while me you and Carl are gone." Rick tells us. "Now when we get to our town stay close, were going look for supplies then ill let you and Mia take a swing into our house with me quickly maybe." Rick explains. "A quick swing? Thats it we cant even look around our town? Dad this is our old home our memories-" Rick cuts off Carl "Yes, I realize that Carl but we need to get what we need then go." Rick snaps at Carl. Carl frowns "Yeah whatever." Carl grumbles. Great! Now we have an unhappy Carl. Way to go Rick! "Hey." I whisper to Carl as he just stared out his window. I take off my seat belt and scoot into the middle seat then put my seat belt back on. "Hey, Carl. Look at me." I whisper to Carl. I place two fingers on his cheek and push his face in the other direction softly so he had to look at me. "You okay?" I ask softly. Carl swipes my hand away from his cheek with a nod. I try grabbing Carl's hand but he just pushes me away. As i gave up trying to comfort him I scooted back to behind Michonne. The car was extremely quiet as I looked out the window just watching the trees pass us with leaves falling out of them. I look at the front of the car to see a man walking on the side of the road. He notices the car. "Your not gonna stop?" I ask as the man yells and begs for help and no one says a thing. I look behind us through the back window as the man tries chasing after the car "This what we've become? People who don't even help other people anymore?" I ask. Carl looks at me "Its what has to happen Mia." Carl tells me. "No it's not." I shake my head "We aren't monsters we can still help people." I point out. "Mia....don't even try, you know they won't stop." Carl whispers to me. "But Carl-" Carl cuts me off "Mia we cant save everyone, lots of people are gonna die, your just gonna have to get use to it." I frown as I nod. Carl undoes his seat belt then scoots towards the middle. He places his seat belt back on then places a hand on my thigh. "Im sorry for earlier Kitten, im just really disappointed." Carl apologizes. I nod "I know you are Carl, I am too." I tell Carl. He kisses my cheek with a smile "You look beautiful today as always." I giggle with a smile and deep blush. "You look handsome today as always." Carl smiles with a blush. I look out the window "Oh my gosh.."i gasp at what I saw. There was a three car head on collision on the road, then anther van flipped on it's side in the grass, and a car completely flipped upside down. Michonne of course had to slow down to swerve around all the cars. There was blood all over the car with a walker stuck in between the first two cars. You could see the people decaying in the car, now that was sad but what i saw next was what really got "They had a baby with them." I whisper to Carl as I see a extremely blood car seat that was for a newborn "A newborn." My eyes start to water and Carl pulled me into his chest. "Don't look." Carl rubs my back as I clutch onto his shirt. I couldn't help but think what if one day we find Judith gone like that? I cringe at the thought. The car came to a stop and I pulled away from Carl. Michonne had gotten stuck in some mud and now the car wasn't moving. There was a walker stuck under the flipped over van I kept looking at. I jumped once three walkers started banging on my window. Carl pulls me away from the window as walkers started to pile around the car. Rick pulled put his gun "Cover your ears baby he doesn't have a silencer, it's gonna be pretty loud." Carl tells me. I nod as I cover my ears as Carl does. Michonne does the same as Rick rolls down his window. He shoots each walker as they come to his window. When he was done Carl placed his hands on my cheeks while nodding telling me it was okay now. I nod as he kiss my forehead. "We have to look for a way to get unstuck." Rick tells us. We all got out of the car and started looking for things, but me they wanted me to stay on watch. I look over at Carl and Rick. Rick was explains how to get the car unstuck and Carl paid attention. I smile at them till i hear Carl ruin it "Wouldn't have to do all this if you wouldn't have let her get us stuck" Carl talks back to his dad. My mouth falls at Carl's words "It was an honest mistake." Is all Rick says as they move onto getting the next tire unstuck. "Why'd you let her come? You took you to Woodbury and you said she just split on you!" Carl shakes his head "She came back, and I asked her to come today. I didn't want to leave her with everyone and your sister." Rick says as I look back towards the road. The leaves ran across it as the wind blew. I loved watching leaves just move in the wind. I always thought it was pretty when a bunch of different colored leaves would move or fall off of a tree together. "Hey! Hey I'm begging you don't leave!" I hear someone yell. It was the guy from before. Carl ran towards me an grabbed my arm "Come on Mia we gotta go." Carl pulls my arm lightly "But Carl-" Carl cut me off "Im not letting some stranger come in and hurt you like you were hurt a few days ago Mia, now lets go!" Carl tells me. I look at the man who was running towards us then back at Carl "Babygirl you gotta understand." Carl says. I shake my head and quickly got into the car with everyone else. We drove off. I felt guilty, really guilty. We just left someone to die. Carl intertwined our hands and fingers together. I squeeze Carl's hand as i in hale deeply. He knew i felt guilty, and I knew he didn't. Thats how he was now. If it wasn't about us or our family, he didn't care about you, or if you died. He was sorta turning.....heartless i guess you can say. I still loved him with all my heart though, and he still loved me with all his heart. I knew that for a fact. We drove off agin and said nothing the rest of the ride. When we pulled up to that old familiar town i couldn't help but smile. The car came to a stop and we all got out. "So many good old memories huh baby?" Carl whispers to me in my ear as he places his hands on my hips from behind. I smile as Carl nuzzles his face into the crook of my neck. "So many." i nod. "Look it's our old favorite play ground" I point to the play ground. "Remember when ever we went one time and you made me push you on the swing really high then you made me push you on the slide like you were a five year old, then we slid down together like five year olds when we were like eight?" Carl asks me. I smile at the memory.
