Demi's POV

At around noon, I headed to my parents house to pick up Mayla and we went back home to get her ready for trick or treating. She had a lot of fun and I loved seeing her run up to the houses and hold her bag out for candy. I couldn't keep the smile off my face and neither could she.

A couple weeks later though is the day of Arianna's release party and I'm in my glam room now getting ready with Cesar and Jill. Max is in the living room right now keeping an eye on Mayla, but it didn't take long for her to wander her way into the glam room looking for me.

"Mama." She whines and I furrow my brows and sit up straighter in the chair.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask as she walks over to me just as Max walks in the room.

"She wanted you." He says and I nod as I pick her up and sit her in my lap.

"You okay baby girl?" I ask pushing her hair out of her face as she rubs her eyes. She doesn't respond and instead just lays her head on my chest as I rub her back. "Are you tired?" I ask her and she shakes her head.

"No." She mumbles and I sigh as I close my eyes so Jill can do my eye shadow. About twenty minutes later, Mayla was still contently sitting in my lap when my doorbell went off and I knew it was Jay.

"You wanna get the door Max? It's Jay." I ask him and he nods as he walks out of the room.

"Jay?" Mayla asks popping her head up and I nod.

"Yeah baby. Jay is here." I say and she smiles big. That smile only got bigger the second he walked in the room and she shimmied out of my lap and ran up to him.

"Jay!" She squeals and I smile as I watch him lift her in his arms.

"Hi sweetheart." He greets and she smiles and wraps her arms around his neck.

"Hi. Mama gettin ready." She says and I chuckle softly. He then looks over at me and gives me a small smile.

"I see that. Getting all that makeup on when she doesn't even need it, huh?" He replies and I blush lightly.

"Yeah." She answers him as they both look at me with smiles on their faces.

"They might be putting me out of a job." Jill says and we all laugh. Cesar then finishes up my hair and Jill was just about done.

"How was practice?" I ask Jay since he started up official practices a few days ago.

"It was good. Tiring, but good." He answers and I nod as he sits down on the couch in the room with Mayla.

"Alright, you're all good to go. Go ahead and get dressed and we will touch you up if we need to." Jill says and I nod and stand up. Everyone walks out of the room and I quickly slide into the dress and then I put my heels on. Once I was fully dressed, I walked out of the room and into the living room where everyone was. We then all left and we drove by my parents house first and I walked up and dropped Mayla off before getting back in the car and heading to the release party. When we arrived, there was a ton of paparazzi because of all the celebrities that were here and I was honestly dreading this. I've had to deal with paparazzi, but not to this extent since I went on my break. Max and Jay both get out of the car and walk over to my side. Max opens my door and I get out of the car and put a small smile on my face as I slip my hand into Jay's and intertwine our fingers. The paparazzi were all yelling and shouting but Max ushered us quickly inside.
