Demi's POV
Over the last month, I started recording more and more music. I all the sudden got all this inspiration and I was constantly writing. Today though is February twelfth. The best day of my life. At four o clock am this day two years ago, I got a phone call from Linda that a baby girl was born and needed a home. I woke up this morning super early and an emotional mess. I went downstairs so I didn't wake Jay who slept over last night and I went into my music room and started playing random chords on the piano. I kept my eyes locked on a picture of me and Mayla when I was still at the hospital. It was a picture my mom took of us a few hours after she was born and she was laying on my chest while we were doing skin to skin. I didn't even realize I was crying until I felt tears drop on my fingers and I take a deep breath as I start wiping my tears away.
"Baby?" I hear and I turn quickly to see Jay standing at the entrance of the room with furrowed brows. "Hey, what's wrong?" He asks walking up to me and sitting next to me.
"She's two." I whine as I cover my face with my hands and I hear him chuckle slightly as he wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his chest.
"And she's the most amazing two year old ever." He says rubbing my back.
"She's growing too fast." I then whine as I look up at him and he starts wiping my tears away also.
"We can't stop time beautiful. I know you're emotional, but look at how amazing she is. You're doing such a good job with her and she is a very smart toddler and I'm not being bias. She's going to grow and she will keep growing and she will always look up to you." He says and I sigh heavily as I look back at the picture.
"I know. I'm just emotional." I mumble and he kisses my temple.
"I know." He says and I roll my eyes as he chuckles. "Can we get you back up to bed now?" He then asks and I nod. He then stands up and grabs my hand as he leads me all the way back to my room. It didn't take long for him to fall back asleep, but I stayed awake while I ran my fingers through his curls and down his back tracing his tattoos. Mayla woke up around seven thirty and she had balloons all in her room that I snuck in last night after she fell asleep.
"Mama!" She squeals as she jumps in her bed as soon as I walk in and I smile big.
"Good morning my beautiful girl! Happy birthday baby!" I reply with just as much excitement as I lift her in my arms. I then quickly change her diaper before setting her on the ground so she can play with the balloons. I smile as I record her playing with them and throwing them in the air.
"Jay!" She squeals and I look up to see him leaning against the threshold of her door. I smile big as she runs up to him and he lifts her up and swings her around.
"Happy Birthday sweetheart! How old are you today?" He says as I stand up straight again.
"I'm two!" She says holding up two fingers.
"What? No way." He says and she giggles and nods.
"Yeah!" She replies. He then sets her back down and she goes back to playing with the balloons.
"Hey, don't start crying again." I hear Jay says once I feel tears start filling my eyes. "Mayla, go give your mommy a kiss and tell her not to cry." He then says and I smile as she immediately runs up to me so I bend down and she kisses me.
"No cry mama." She says placing her hands on either side of my face and I chuckle.
"I won't baby. I love you." I say and she smiles big.
"Love you." She replies before turning and focusing her attention back on the balloons. Soon, we make it downstairs and Jay offered to make breakfast. So, he started making pancakes and even was patient enough to let Mayla help him even if she did make a little bit of a mess. We ate breakfast and then we all got ready to go to a trampoline place that I rented out for her party. We made it there around eleven am and she ran off so fast to start jumping. Luckily no one else was there yet besides my parents and sisters that came early to help make sure everything is set up the right way. Jay ended up going out on the trampolines with her to keep an eye on her while I went over to my mom and sisters.
