Demi's POV
When we pulled up to my house, we got out and headed inside. I went straight upstairs to change and I heard him follow me.
"Can you unzip me?" I ask quietly after a few minutes of struggling with my dress. He doesn't say anything, but he walks up behind me and quickly unzips my dress before walking away. I take a deep breath as I change into an oversized shirt and then I walk into my bathroom where he already was brushing his teeth. I take my extensions out and let my hair down before taking off my makeup and finishing up my nightly routine.
"Are you okay?" I ask him as I go to get into bed and he nods as he scrolls through his phone.
"Fine." He mumbles and I sigh heavily. I watch him for a few minutes to see if he would elaborate, but when he didn't, I took a deep breath as I plucked his phone out of his hands and I locked it.
"Look, you don't need to tell me anything if you're not ready, but clearly I hit a soft spot earlier." I say once he looks up at me.
"I just don't want to talk about my exes with my girlfriend. They are all my past and you are my present and hopefully future. We don't need to dwell on that and neither do you." He says and I squint my eyes slightly trying to read in between the lines because there seems to be a lot more to this story.
"Why would you be worried about me dwelling on one of your exes?" I ask and he sighs heavily.
"Never mind." He mumbles and I roll my eyes getting frustrated.
"No. Don't never mind me. I asked a simple question Jay." I say and he groans before standing up quickly.
"And I answered you. No. Don't worry about any of them." He says raising his voice and I flinched slightly.
"Fine. I won't. Why are you getting so defensive?" I ask as he starts pacing the room and running his hands through his hair.
"I'm not." He mumbles finally sitting back down on the bed, but facing away from me. "I'm sorry." He then says and I nod even if he can't see me.
"It's fine. We can forget this even happened." I say softly even if I will have this in my mind for awhile. I know it's nothing I should worry about, but a small part of me is telling me that this is something I need to worry about and I don't know why. I then run my hand down his back causing him to turn and look at me over his shoulder and I give him a small smile. He smiles back as he rolls over and hovers on top of me as he connects his lips onto mine. It didn't take long for us to fully unclothe each other and for him to slip his member inside of me. I don't know why, but something just seemed different this time around. It was very much pleasurable, but something was off and I couldn't put my finger on it. After a couple rounds though, we were both exhausted and fell asleep against each other.
That entire conversation was completely forgotten over the next several weeks. I had even almost forgotten about it which was nice. It was like nothing happened. On Thanksgiving, I decided to invite Jay to my family's house to officially meet them. I was a nervous wreck hoping that everything would go well and it did. It actually went amazing. My mom had fallen in love with him the second they started talking and both my sisters couldn't stop gushing over how amazing he was to me and Mayla. My dad was who I was nervous for, but he seemed to love him also. They got into a conversation about soccer and Jay promised him and the rest of my family season tickets with jerseys which was really sweet. My family was also very impressed at how well he was with Mayla and my mom wouldn't shut up about a future wedding and children. I had to scold her and remind her we had only been together a couple months, but that didn't stop her from gushing. My sisters even got in on the action and after awhile, I was annoyed and went to go find Jay who was talking with my dad outside. After thanksgiving, Jay thought it was a good time for me to meet his family as well and I was even more nervous. I of course accepted, but I was a little un easy about flying all the way to the Netherlands. I wasn't comfortable with leaving Mayla in another country and I wasn't comfortable taking her to another one either. We compromised though and he made a plan to fly them here for Christmas. Throughout that entire month, I couldn't stop thinking about meeting them. Jay reassured me several times that they all already loved me, but they haven't even met me. I didn't even know if they knew I had a daughter, but apparently they did because he told me after I was rambling to him the night before they were flying in. The morning they landed, Jay went to pick them up while I brought Mayla to a check up appointment at her doctors. When it was over, he called me and wanted to know if I wanted to meet them for breakfast.
