Demi's POV

"Lets just eat and relax. You don't have to make a decision right now." He says after a couple minutes of silence and I nod as he leads me to the blankets and we sit down. "So, you think Mayla is excited?" He asks after handing me a sandwich and I shrug.

"I don't think she understands. She probably is just thinking the baby is one of her baby dolls, so I don't know." I answer just as my phone starts ringing so I reach in my purse to grab it and I see someone I don't really want to talk to calling me. I decline the call and put it back in my purse as I look up at Jay.

"Who was that?" He asks and I shake my head.

"No one." I answer as I feel the guilt come over me, but I take a deep breath and muster up a small smile.

This little date was perfect. I was so happy to be spending time with Jay again and although I didn't know if I wanted to give him another chance right now, I knew one day I would because he's perfect and I'm so in love with him. I just don't know if I want to do this right now in this moment. When we finished eating, we took a walk around the lake and then we headed home. When we pulled up to my house, Jay walked with me to my door and I leaned against it as I stared up at him.

"Tonight was great. Thank you." I say and he smiles and nods.

"I just want to be with you again and I'm willing to do anything to make that happen." He says taking a step towards me and I take a deep breath as I look off to the side momentarily.

"Even if that means waiting?" I ask looking back up at him and he furrows his brows slightly and then nods.

"If that's what you want." He answers and I bite my lip slightly.

"I just don't know if now is a good time. I think we should just be on our own for a little bit. At least until the baby is here and we really want to give it another shot." I explain and he looks down.

"That's six months from now. I want to be with you now. I want to do all this stuff together to prepare for the baby. I wanna see your bump grow and I want to be there when they kick for the first time." He says and I sigh. This is exactly why I don't want to do the relationship thing now because he only seems to want to be with me because of the baby.

"And you will be. You're still their dad and you will still be there every step of the way. Tonight was amazing and it brought back memories of being together, but I just need time to think and I think you do too. I'll see you around Jay." I say before turning and opening the door and luckily he didn't try to stop me. When I walked in, I saw Max chasing Mayla around the house with her pajamas in his hands and her in just her diaper. I chuckle as I lean against the wall since neither one of them noticed me.

"Mommy!" Mayla then squeals all the sudden when her eyes lock on mine and I smile big as I bend down as she runs in my arms.

"Hi sweet girl. Are you giving Max a hard time?" I ask and she giggles and shakes her head. "No? Then why are you still in your diaper?" I ask and she shrugs her shoulders.

"I don't know." She answers and I laugh as I take her pajamas from Max who gives me a relieved look as I quickly get her dressed and then lift her in my arms.

"I think it's about time for bed missy." I say and she laughs loudly as I tickle her.

"No. Not tired." She says shaking her head as I start walking upstairs with her. When I get into her room, I close the door and turn off the light so the only thing on is her nightlight. I let her turn on her humidifier and air sounds before sitting down in the rocking chair with her to read her a book. She was asleep before I even finished, so I just closed the book and continued rocking her as I rubbed her back. I eventually moved her to her crib and then I walked out of her room and downstairs to tell Max he could leave. Once he did, I relaxed on the couch and pulled out the ultrasound pictures from today and smiled softly as I ran my hand over my stomach. A small bump was starting to form and I have to admit, I can't wait to see it grow even more. After a little while, I hear a knock on my door and I furrow my brows as I stand up and walk over to the door. When I open it up, I see those piercing blue eyes and I almost want to close the door in his face, but I don't.
