Demi's POV
"You okay?" Max asks after about thirty minutes into the game and I look up at him and nod.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I reply and he chuckles softly.
"Demi. I have been around you almost 24/7 for almost fifteen years now. I know when there's something on your mind that's bothering you." He says and I sigh heavily knowing he's right.
"It's not that I'm upset." I mumble.
"Okay, then what is it?" He asks again.
"Jay and I have been together for six months today and he hasn't said a word. He hasn't even acknowledged this date every month so far. I know it's stupid, but I think about it and I don't know." I finally tell him rambling slightly and he chuckles.
"Well if it makes you feel any better, most men don't think of that type of stuff. If he forgets your one year anniversary though, I'll be right there." He says patting my shoulder and I sigh heavily.
"All my exes have remembered." I reply quietly and he raises his brows.
"Don't even think of saying that to him if you bring it up. That will just cause an argument." He tells me sternly and I take a deep breath as I look out to the field as the game gets ready to start.
"So, I should just forget about it?" I ask glancing up at him and he nods.
"Probably best. Like I said though, if he forgets your birthday or your one year anniversary, you know where to find me." He says shoving me lightly and I chuckle. The game was pretty intense the entire way. It was tied at 0-0 until the last ten minutes when Jay scored a goal. I don't think I've ever been that excited before. I popped up out of my chair and started cheering as I recorded him and the rest of his team celebrate. I then posted it on my story and watched the rest of the game with my legs bouncing. I was extremely nervous because the other team got close to scoring a couple times, but they never did and Jay's team ended up winning. Jay had to do several interviews with the press after the game, so we waited for him outside the lockers while Mayla was sleeping in my arms. It was Mayla's bedtime right now, so I'm glad I got her to eat in the viewing room so she already had dinner. Jay soon walks out and I smile big as he walks up to me.
"You did amazing baby." I say quietly as I adjust Mayla on one arm as I bring my other around his neck to bring him down for a kiss. "I'm so proud of you." I then say as we pull away and he smiles.
"Thank you." He replies. "How long has she been out?" He then asks.
"Like thirty minutes." I answer as we walked all the way to the parking garage and once I got Mayla buckled in her car seat and closed the door, I then turned and saw Jay leaning against his car right next to us.
"Meet you at my house?" I ask leaning against my car.
"I was actually just gonna go back to my place tonight." He says and I nod slightly disappointed.
"Oh, okay. Umm.. call me when you're home then." I say and he nods as he leans over to kiss my cheek quickly and then he was in his car just as fast. I was slightly confused at how short he was all the sudden, but I just let it go and got in the car so Max could drive me and Mayla home. When we got home, I brought Mayla up to her room and changed her quickly while trying to make sure she doesn't wake up, which luckily she didn't. I then laid her down in her crib after I kissed her goodnight and then I walked down to my room So I could change and get ready for bed. Jay never called me, but he did text me letting me know that he was home and he was going to sleep cause he was tired and I was even more confused.
From Jay❤️: Hey, I'm home. I'm gonna just go to bed cause this game tired me out, so I'll call you in the morning.
To Jay❤️: Okay. Is everything okay?
