25 - Making Amends

Sitting on the couch and watching Dora, a sudden realization struck you. All these men wanted was your attention, right? So in theory, if you pretended to be complacent they'd trust you and eventually let you go. It definitely sounded like a foolproof plan, however you didn't necessarily enjoy the idea of entertaining your captors. You put that plan aside and decided that would be your last ditch effort if nothing else worked.

'You could die.' A tiny intrusive thought bubbled up in your mind, though you immediately pushed it away. You weren't that desperate to get out of this hell hole; at least not yet.

"(Y/N)," The male beside you called to you and shook you lightly. "He's been standing in front of you for 5 minutes."

You tuned back into the real world to see Beau standing there awkwardly. He shuffles on his feet nervously, seemingly unsure of what he wants to say.

"What is it?" You glare at the boy.

"I um, well I wanted to apologize..." He continues to shuffle from his feet.

"Apologize?"

"Yes, that's what I wanted to do."

"You think you can just apologize and everything will be fine? Well I'm sorry to break it to you but that's not how it works. You wouldn't forgive me if I killed your parents."

"Yes I would." He looks at you with complete seriousness.

"Listen, I don't know what kind of mommy issues you have, but I could care less. The fact of the matter is I had a decent relationship with them and you killed them," Your voice begins to break slightly but you hold it together, "Now I don't even have my cat."

"This is all about your cat?" Levi chimes into the conversation.

You lose interest in arguing your case any further and opt to just stare at the ground.

"(Y/N), I really am sorry. I didn't want to kill them Levi made me," Beau continues to argue his case, his voice breaking as well.

"Just because he 'made you' doesn't mean you had too," You raise your voice slightly.

"If I didn't he would've killed me and your parents." He concludes his argument, the tears he was holding finally falling.

You look to Levi to see if his claim was true.

"I did what had to be done." He says nonchalantly and returns to the book he had been reading earlier.

You blink a few times, unable to process the information delivered to you. You allow the pink haired boy to sit down next to you and cry into your shoulder. A part of you thinks you should be the one crying, however he seems to need it more at the moment.

"I'm sorry," He repeats once more, barely above a whisper.

"It's..." You pause for a moment, was it really okay? "It's fine," That was a better response. It wasn't okay, but it wasn't exactly terrible. 'He was doing it to save his life,' You try to reason with yourself but there's still a piece of you who hated him.

"I..." He pauses for a moment, looking up at you with tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes, "Thank you, you're perfect."

You smile uncomfortably at him and pat his head. It wouldn't hurt to have a friend, right?

Ever since you 'accepted' Beau's apology he's clung to you like glue. Sure it was nice to have someone to keep you company but it was getting to be too much. You just wanted to take a nap before dinner.
