𝘞𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘯'𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵

Hurried steps hit the pavements of Harajuku street while the cold autumn wind harshly blows against Yahaba, making him clutch his coat tighter. 'I'm super underdressed! God, this cold weather!' he mentally curses before rushing to their warm, one-room apartment.

The fleeting lights of cars on the street and neon signs for bars, restaurants, and konbinis flash against his eyes. The voices are hushed by the wind as he passes by them, students, businessmen, and housewives alike, the rush hour fills the streets with people coming and going.

Blowing warm breath into his hand, their apartment complex comes into view. A small smile creeps on his face as he hurriedly crosses to the side of his home, rushing up the stairs.

He fumbles for his keys, clumsily moving about while trying to fish the set of keys from his bag. He feels the Vabo-chan keychain gifted by Oikawa before tugging it off the cluttered pens and notebooks inside.

He positions the key and turns it, opening the door to the smell of miso and burdock. "Kentaro, tadaima,"

"Go wash your hands, okaeri," the faint and gruff voice comes from the kitchen while Yahaba takes his shoes off and wears his slippers. "Smells great, what is it?"

"Braised burdock with bacon, vegetable miso, and then chicken rice," he plainly answers, vaguely seeing Yahaba's figure treading to their small restroom, "Sounds great!" he yells while the tap runs.

Kyoutani kills the heat of their stove before putting soup into the designated bowls, the rice cooker beside him beeping to indicate that it's ready. He places the burdock side dishes on a smaller plate before putting them on the table.

Yahaba gets out and folds his sleeve, going to Kyoutani's station before helping him prepare their dinner. "How was practice today?" he asks while scooping in the rice, careful so that he won't spill some grains over.

"'S good," he says with his permanent pout, and a blunt voice, making Yahaba grimace a bit at the dry answer. "C'mon, let's eat you still have early classes,"

"Yes, yes~" Yahaba sets the bowls of rice down and takes his seat across Kyoutani. The two settle down before they simultaneously bow.

"Thanks for the food,"

"Let's eat," Yahaba excitedly claps before eyeing what to eat first. He grabs the bowl of rice and brings it up to his chin level, starting to take a pile with the chopsticks and then including the chicken incorporated in the rice.

Kyoutani glances at him, suddenly conscious of his cooking when Yahaba lets out a happy grunt, "Sooo good~!" he exclaims satisfied before taking some of the burdock and gulping down the miso soup.

The relief Kyoutani felt washes over him, his appetite slowly building up as Yahaba's satisfied and happy expression never fails to make him feel better. "You're such a great cook, it puts me to shame,"

"It's just a matter of practice," he responds while Yahaba keeps on downing the dishes he has prepared.

The pair have been going out not too long ago. After recovering from a break-up Kyoutani chose to respond to Yahaba's confession a few years back by asking him out. It has been shaky and a bit clumsy for Kyoutani but Yahaba was an angel compared to his former lover.

Hearing the clatter of the ceramic rice bowl hit the wooden table, Kyoutani looks up to see Yahaba's pleased expression, "I'm stuffed!"

"Seconds?" he asks, not looking at him while doing so. Yahaba leans back on his chair, "You're going to make me fat Kentaro-kun," he jokingly states but he suddenly sees the upset expression on his lover's face.
