Mika pulled Daishou's hand as she leads him to the secluded, frozen lake in the middle of Japanese woods.
"This was the place I've been talking about!" she excitedly says and takes off her shoes immediately, clinging onto Daishou as she balances herself. She puts on the first skating shoe then proceeds to put on the other.
"You sure are enthusiastic today," Daishou pokes at her cheek as she nods and smiles widely, "Of course I am! I haven't been to this place forever now!"
He smiles at his excited girlfriend, making her go over the frozen ice first while he ties his skating shoes together, placing their snowshoes aside properly.
He makes his way to the frozen ice, gliding nicely before lightly bumping onto his girlfriend. "The ice sure is sturdy huh? And it's very blue too," Daishou comments, looking down at the sight below him.
"Ahh, don't point it out Shigeru! You know I'm kinda scared of the dark part of any body of water," Mika tries to avoid the influence of looking down as Daishou laughs.
"Here~ come," he places out his hand for her to take. They dance around the frozen ice, giggling and accidentally bumping each other as they move around.
Mika did a twirl around Daishou, noticing a young boy across the lake, with a scarf and skate shoes on. "Ah," she abruptly stops, startling her boyfriend a bit.
"What is it–" he turns to the direction she was looking at and squinted his eyes. A little girl with earmuffs and cute little mittens appeared.
"He must be lost," Mika mutters, skating towards the small boy that she sees.
Daishou furrows his brows, "He?? Well I guess you could mistake her for a boy," he mutters to himself and approaches Mika, but he suddenly slips.
"Ah, Suguru! Are you okay?" Mika turns back and suddenly hears the ice crack. The child falls down under, making Mika turn in shock.
She wasn't planning to jump, she really didn't but before she knew it, she was running to the hole, taking a plunge as Suguru looked in horror.
He saw the child kneeling above the hole, looking down in feigned horror.
He got back up to his feet quickly and dives after his girlfriend. He grabs his now cold and almost unconscious Mika and tries to quickly move up after such a deep plunge.
They were going to freeze if he didn't make it out on time.
Daishou goes to the direction they came in from only to find it frozen solid. He saw the child walk over the former hole.
He tried kicking it only to no avail.
The darkness creeps in, the cold seeping in through their bodies as the pain from the absolutely low temperature pricks their skin. Daishou lets out a scream, freezing water seeping into his lungs, pounding on the solidified glass.
Their regular shoes hung there, unworn and unfound.
It was quite unfortunate the owners froze before they could take it back.
