Chapter 60: Doctor Vanidestine

We're having a laps. Kanina pa kami nagsimulang alas singko but it's 5:30 pa lang naman as of the moment. Maaga pa pero sina Chesca at Rein gising na gising na. Nasa may gate sila. Pagdaan namin, agad naman silang kumaway. I waved back at them and continued.

When breakfast came, I'm with the Colonel, not totally na gusto ko but I don't have any choice dahil siya mismo ang tumabi. Sina Chesca kakatapos lang kanina kaya hindi ko nakasama.

"So, how old are you, Sargeant?" Colonel opened a conversation.

"34."

"Mmm, I'm older than you for three years." Sabi niya kahit hindi ko tinatanong.

Tumango lang ako.

"Seems that you don't like some conversation huh? You're somehow introvert." Aniya at tumango naman ako.

"Are you interested in shooting right?" Tanong nanaman niya. Tumango nanaman ako."I've seen you played sa FIU. It was cool honestly, fourth year collage ako non. Kaya pala medyo familiar ka when you entered a day ago."

I gave him a nod again.

Colonel De Gracia chuckled that made me look at him.

Baliw ba 'to? Tumatawa mag-isa eh.

"Aren't you, uhm, somehow interested in me? Like, being a friend lang?" He smiled after he wiped his lips.

"I'm not interested in people but I'm just showing them a fake interest for them not to call me rude. I don't need a friend, I'm contended for what I have, Colonel." I replied to him.

He nodded."Mmm, how can I gain your precious friendship card ba?" Colonel De Gracia smiled.

"It's out of stock."

Colonel laughed."You're cute."

Napailing iling na lang ako. Mukha ba akong cute? Tanggap ko ang salitang suplada kesa sa cute kasi hindi ako cute.

"Do you mind me asking you for a dinner?" The Colonel asked after we finished our foods.

"I mind it. It's a no." I replied and immideatly stood up.

The Colonel stood up too. He smiled politely."I just want to know you more better. Baka kapag magkasama tayo araw araw magkaroon ng pag-asa."

"I'm here for work not for that thing. I'll excuse myself Colonel." Paalam ko.

Agad akong dumulong sa labas, sakto ring nakasalubong ko ang Heneral kasama si Amziro.

I saluted at the Heneral.

"Sargeant Throndsen." The Heneral called.

"Yes General?"

"Pakisamahan muna si Dok Vanidestine sa bayan. Gusto kong ikutin niyong dalawa ang bayan." Sabi ng Heneral. Nagaalangan naman akong tumango.

"Walang problema."

Ngumiti ang Heneral. Parang may kakaiba sa ngiting 'yon at hindi ko matukoy kung ano."O' siya, sige na. Mauna na ako."

I gave the Heneral a salute.

"By the way, Artritico and you, Sargeant have some sparks." Huling sabi niya bago tumalikod at maglakad. Agad na sumama ang mukha ko dahil kahit kailan hindi kami mekaniko para magkaroon ng sparks.

"Sana makuryente kayo sa spark na 'yan." I heard Amziro.

Agad ko siyang tinignan. I raised a brow. He just gave me a fake dumbfounded look that made me rolled my eyes.
