First date. We never know if the first date will last an hour, months or maybe years. Who knows all her life? You never know who we’re really going to meet, so what are the expectations? At the first date we disguise ourselves and wear some kind of mask, but, as they say, time always presents what we have inside.

In a way or another.

The first rays of sunlight invaded the crack in Chaeyoung’s bedroom window, leaving the room dimly lit. It was still possible to hear the light rain outside and an extroverted conversation between the Park downstairs. The smell of the mixture of wet earth and hot chocolate had awakened Lisa from her light sleep, making her squint when she received the light coming from the window directly on her face; soon her eyes found a figure lying next to her that the Thai girl doubted was human due to the perfection she matched. Chaeyoung had a hand under the pillow and the other hung on the bed, her breathing gave the Thai girl a certain peace concentrated on the left side of her chest.

They had kissed. Chaeyoung took the first step and that made her even happier, the battle waged in her chest between kissing or not kissing a girl had finally been parted when the blonde girl’s urgent lips reached hers, clearing her mind completely. The Thai girl’s heart accelerated once more as she remembered feeling of being kissed by Chaeyoung and for a second wished she could do that again.

Lisa looked at the clock on the headboard and thanked God that it was still too early for college, so she can get up carefully so as not to wake Chaeyoung and walk leisurely to the bathroom for hygiene. Her thoughts still revolved around the kiss and what would happen from now on with the two of them, she had realized that she was willing to throw herself headlong into what they were building, but Chaeyoung still had her fears and Lisa feared the moment when such a conversation arrives.

She didn’t know what to expect.

As soon as she left the bathroom, she turned off the bedroom light again, analyzing the calm breathing of the blonde girl still lying in the same position on the bed. Lisa started walking slowly around the room, analyzing every detail, from the polka dot ornament on the dresser to the guitar left on the floor next to her bed last night, as well as the towel that should have been used to dry her hair, but ended up having to do this alone. Her eyes located the music box and quickly the Central Park concert was present in the young girl’s memories. Lisa opened the box and closed her eyes, contemplating the soft sound that she liked so much in childhood, cast a quick look at Chaeyoung checking if she hadn’t woken her up and left the box on the dresser again changing to a small radio with a thumb drive ;being the song Lisa had played that cold night in Ashley’s apartment when she was sitting at the top of the building, it was her private soundtrack when she returned to bed just to contemplate Chaeyoung’s sleep.

Chaeyoung frowned with her eyes still closed and yawned lazily, eliciting a laugh of admiration from the Thai girl lying in front of her. When she finally opened her eyes slyly, it took a few seconds before she realized that someone was watching over her sleep with tenderness running through her sparkling brown eyes. The blonde girl knew that she had blushed furiously as soon as their eyes met, they now just stared at each other absorbing each other.

“What are you looking at?” Chaeyoung asked in a broken voice, almost null.

Lisa smiled passionately and touched the blonde girl’s nose with the tip of her index finger before answering:

“You.”

That’s when Chaeyoung realized the radio on and what song it was on; she wanted to sink into the pillow and never let Lisa see her in the embarrassment they were in.

“You messed with my radio, Lisa!” Chaeyoung implied hiding her face in her hands. “And you are staring at me while my eyes are full of puff, a horrible breath and probably my hair looks like a lion’s mane.”
