January 27, 2022. – New York, NY.

Chaeyoung’s POV.

Things have definitely been on track for almost a month. Gradually I was rebuilding my stage career with the philharmonic, newspapers across the country likened me to a phoenix with the theory of rising from the ashes. I had a pool built in the back of the ranch with a small fence, swapped the double bed for a King Size bed, swapped some furniture and hired a guy to look after my horses now that my time would be divided between my family and music and I had my mother’s house renovated. It was a fresh start not only for me, but for everyone around me.

I still remember exactly that day, we chose the date precisely to symbolize our coming back on top of all the bad things that happened to us. Before dawn my ranch was already full of people walking from one side to the other building the huge tent in the back where the party would be. At the front we set up a white arch where the minister, Lisa and me would be. The 60 chairs were distributed 30 on each side of the white carpet that led to the altar and beside the arch we placed a white piano that Jennie would play at our entrances.

This was like a dream.

The most beautiful dream I ever had.

Lisa was taken from me by Olivia and Somi with the excuse that we wouldn’t be able to see each other before the wedding, that old bad luck bullshit, like we hadn’t had the worst for a long time.

Ethan stayed with Jules and Adam, and I was taken care of by my braidesmaid Jisoo, Jennie and Emily.

"Ok, Lisa, you’re pale and you’ve already vomited twice this morning, are you sure you’re not pregnant?"

I looked in disbelief at Jennie who seemed to be talking very serious as she helped me into that dress.

"Last time I checked on Lisa, she had a vagina.“ I snapped and stood in front of the mirror letting Emily close my dress from behind. “I’m nervous, Jennie. It’s my wedding, are you aware of that? I’m marrying the woman I love, that’s insane."

I looked out the window checking if everything was alright with the tent assembly people, I was afraid that something would go wrong by nightfall, anything could happen and I was already getting desperate. My stomach lurched restlessly creating that chill that ran down my spine.

"What if she doesn’t come?" I asked almost in despair and Jisoo rolled her eyes.

"It’s the fifth time you’ve asked that, Chaeyoung.“ She said and pushed me to a chair to start stroking my hair. “Coke or beer?"

"Coke."

"Somi doesn’t stop texting cursing, she said Lisa looks like another madwoman in despair.“ Emily said laughing and took her cell phone. “You were made for each other."

I’m sure my eyes sparkled at Emily, she was such a sweet and kind person that I wondered what she was doing with Olivia, but when I thought of them right away the story of opposites made sense. One balanced the other, just as Lisa balanced my fantasy world and I took her out of her reality.

Lisa's POV

I paced around the apartment thinking of a way to calm my nerves. It was the second time I had worn a wedding dress, but this time it was for a perfect purpose.

It was my wedding.

With Park Chaeyoung.

"I think I’ll have my son now if you keep walking from one side to the other." Somi said from her corner. “Seriously, I’m getting dizzy."
