There she was sitting on the Columbia campus lawn with her inseparable headphones reproducing good old Johnny Cash. Chocolate cappuccino in hands, glasses on her face and her course books left aside. It was Saturday and as usual, Somi had returned to Miami - furious with the Thai - and Lisa called her parents with the excuse that she needed to study so as not to be retained in some subjects, which, in fact, was nothing but lies. Her only plan was to see Chaeyoung at night. Somi hadn't even said goodbye when she left in the morning, and, in revenge, slammed the bedroom door loud enough to make Lisa jump out of bed scared and snort irritably.

After last night's conversation, Lisa knew she was falling for the girl who not only played the piano and cello, but also her heart. This made her change her view of the law of gravity. Was it a bad thing? You know, surrender to someone you barely knew; feeling delivered and with the feeling that your heart could explode at any moment?

Maybe that was going to be in love.

When the alarm on her phone went off, Lisa collected all the material and threw the cup in the trash before heading to the bedroom. There were few people that day, practically all the students on campus had gone to visit their parents or gone out to party, and it was the first time that Lisa had been in the middle of the day in that place.

She turned on the stereo and left some Amy Winehouse tracks playing while taking a hot shower and changing for the of the night. She opted for a gray Baby Look with the number 53 on the back and the Columbia logo on the chest; skinny black pants; a dark brown Osklen boot, and as the cold that afternoon was not helping much, she decided to tie her black plaid shirt with red at the waist just in case.

There, I couldn't be more feminine.

Lisa turned off the stereo and left the room towards the parking lot, but not before doing her ritual of stopping at the coffee machine and buying a chocolate cappuccino. Her mother always said that she would have future problems with this addiction, but who cares when what can kill you is one of the delights of life? She got into the car leaving the coffee in the cup holder and started it, enjoying the roar of the engine that was almost also a ritual to get out of the parking lot. Sometimes Lisa wondered if that would sound weird if she told someone, and the answer was almost always yes.

Columbia was not far from Central Park, which at that hour, with exactly four hours to go before the show, was already full. Along Av. Fifth Avenue the sidewalks were infested with banners with the names of the bands - most of which were Juilliard -, and leading artists who would play that night. Lisa parked the car as close as possible to the south side of the park. She analyzed her makeup in the rearview mirror, tossed her bangs aside, and took a small package and towel from the glove compartment.

There were thousands of balloons flying over the park, as well as candy apple and cotton candy stands everywhere. Lisa decided to wait for Chaeyoung from a tree a little far from the crowd, it was a good place to watch the show without being sucked in by people.

Me: Hey! I'm here. Meet me under that big L-shaped tree on the south side of the stage.

The date with Chaeyoung's parents had been for Sunday due to the event that night which gave Lisa more time to devise a plan not to be idiot in front of their futures, whatever God wants, in-laws Jennie would also play that night with Chaeyoung and maybe Jisoo would be around to keep her company, which was much better than being alone among thousands of people.

Twilight had added a gradient-colored spectacle to the sky, and fortunately the weather did not announce rain for that night. Lisa tapped her foot a few times on the pavement and kicked an impatient stone, the feeling of frustration starting to invade her chest when she heard a distant, dreamy and at the same time happy laugh. The Thai girl immediately focused her eyes on the direction of the sound where a smiling girl said goodbye to two friends and walked towards her.
