December 4, 2014. – First year of college.

Lisa felt bad about leaving New York’s freezing weather and snowflakes in the morning. After talking to Chaeyoung in the middle of the night, her sleep decided to abandon her for good and probably had been transferred to Somi, who spent the entire trip sleeping in the seat next to her, curled up in the duvet with her mouth open. Jennie decided to accompany them this time to visit the family and try a possible conversation about the sexuality that scared her so much, even Lisa was distressed by her. But other than what the trip could be, Jennie also fell asleep and Lisa had her good old Johnny Cash in the headphones with her.

Luckily, Mason had allowed her to keep the car in her house as she did not like to leave it for more than a day in the republic’s parking lot, did not trust the big guys who were up and running at dawn when they were drunk enough to do things that they wouldn’t remember in the morning. Chaeyoung made a point of waking up early – something almost impossible – to wish her a good trip again and without her parents seeing, stealing a chaste kiss from her.

Now she was locked in the old room in Thailand, watching the ceiling intently and wondering internally if Jennie had already taken the courage to face her parents. Could she do it? How would they react? For a moment she was jealous of her friend’s courage.

She pushed her thoughts away when she heard three subtle knock from her mother on the bedroom door announcing that lunch ready. Before getting up, she took her cell phone out of her pocket and sent a message to Chaeyoung.

Me: Hey, you.

It didn’t take long for her cell phone to vibrate with the answer.

Blondie: Hey, you.

She smiled with that silly mania that had to be called that since the short trip to the Jisoo ranch.

Me: I admit that right now I’m feeling jealous of you for being as close to the snow as I am to the Sun.

Blondie: In the meantime, I’m curled up in four comforters and watching Top Gun.

Me: Top Gun? Seriously?

Blondie: Shut up.

Me: Uhn. Do you like military men? ;)

Blondie: Only if you wear a uniform for me: D

Lisa laughed unconsciously and then heard her mother call her impatient downstairs.

Me: Know that if that was a teaser, you failed miserably.

Blondie: Consider yourself single.

Me: Hmmm … Love?

Me: Chaeyoung.

A few seconds have passed, the message has been viewed and no answer has arrived. Lisa rolled her eyes from the bed reluctantly and crawled out of the room, still staring at the phone screen with a few friends on her face.

Me: Chaeyoung ?????

She went downstairs to find her father looking as imposing as ever; his social clothes were missing his blazer, his beard perfectly drawn as well as his thick eyebrows and sparse hair. He was carefully studying some papers on the table with his prescription glasses on the tip of his nose while it was not served.

"I always wonder what you find so interesting on the phone." He commented analyzing his daughter and scratching his beard right after.

Amy was already sitting at the table waiting for the other family members, she also wore social clothes, her straight black hair fell to just below her shoulder, and her eyes were honey-colored. Always very well groomed with rigid posture, like a perfect Manoban. The woman offered a smile when she saw Lisa, it was always like that when she came back, her mother was the most emotional person in the family, maybe that’s why Jules pulled her over.
