January 22, 2015. – First year of college.
The little Olaf doll remained motionless above the lit fireplace that served as a warmth against the biting cold of the heavy rain outside. Mason, Rosalie and Alice left early for the market leaving the house in a comfortable silence. Chaeyoung had fallen asleep as soon as she arrived from college, the day had been exhausting due to her group’s group presentations and Professor Will’s complaints about her performance having declined in the past few days. And facing the fireplace, sitting with her back against the sofa, dress shirt with the first buttons open, hair tossed aside, graphite pencil between her teeth and in hand some processes that she needed to solve by Tuesday for Mr. Smith, there was a concentrated Lisa.
Or it was what she was trying to do.
Despite striving to keep her mind occupied with processes, emotional exhaustion and the various thoughts about her father still lingered in her mind. In a way, she hated herself for allowing herself to be so sensitive to other people’s comments, especially Marco’s. He smothered her with the countless calls, work plans and weekend invitations in Thailand; these invitations that Lisa refused with excuses about jobs, but the truth is that she needed to pay attention to Chaeyoung, who as much as she denied it, suffered in silence for her sudden mania to discount the anger in the drink.
All the negative thoughts that surrounded her disappeared when thin arms wrapped around her neck and a warm breath found her skin between her shoulder the neck.
"Do you know all those goosebumps that run through your body?"
"Good morning my love.“ Chaeyoung purred in her ear.
Lisa thanked herself mentally for being seated.
"Almost good night, princess.“ She laughed and turned her face to face perfection. Damn Disney, there is nothing more cute than your girlfriend. “Sleep well?"
Chaeyoung made a funny face pushing the papers away from the Thai girl and then snuggled in her lap like a baby. There was nothing in the whole world that Lisa liked more than having her lover like that, curled up in her arms like a valuable bundle, protected from the cold in that sweatshirt bigger than her and the bright eyes that hid a dreamy but strong girl.
"The sound of that alarm clock plagued my sleep.“ Chaeyoung pouted that Lisa couldn’t resist kissing gently. The older girl gave a sweet little smile between the kiss and delighted when sucking the lower lip of the girlfriend. “Hmm, someone is in need of attention."
"I’m in need of my Chaeyoung, it’s different."
"As if we don’t see each other every day."
"I don’t care, give me one more kiss.“ Lisa muttered tilting her head towards her girlfriend, but Chaeyoung was smarter and turned away. “Oh no!"
"You’ll have to ask politely.“ she provoked with a cynical smile.
Lisa rolled her eyes and pulled her closer, if that was physically possible.
'I want my kiss and I don’t need to ask permission because I’m your girlfriend."
"No, you will have to be an educated girl."
“Chaeyoung, I’m going to throw you in that fireplace."
The older girl let out a delicious laugh that echoed throughout the room. Lisa kept her face sulky trying at all costs to win her kiss, but Chaeyoung had the advantage now that she was sitting on her lap.
"Chaeyouuuuungg!"
"No."
"My. Kisses. Now."
"No."
