It was a peaceful and beautiful morning I awoke to the sound of waves from the ocean. I then opened the blinds. The window was slightly open since I like to listen to the sound of the waves when I go to sleep.

'Knock, Knock' someone was knocking on my room door. It must be the maid I thought.

"Who is it ?"

"It's me Miss, may I enter." I was right it was the maid, Mary. "Yes Mary you may come in." Mary then opened the door and entered my room.

"It's a beautiful day isn't it Miss" Mary said. "Yes, a very beautiful day Indeed."

"Your father has called for you Miss please do get ready and come down." It must be something important I thought to myself.

"Mary did father happen to tell you what he wanted to talk to me about." I asked Mary as she was about to leave.

"No Miss he did not specify he just told me to tell you he'd like to see you." She said.

"Alright then thank you Mary." I said as she laid a dress out for me on my bed, before she left the room. "You're quite welcome Miss" Mary said as she shut the door behind her.

I look at the dress Mary had laid out for me it was my favourite dress. It was a simple red dress I loved this dress the most out of all the dresses that I had owned.

I put on my dress, did my hair, and put on my favourite necklace. It used to belong to my mother she gave it to me before she died.

She died when I was young from a sickness. After that my father and me moved to Port Royal. He is now Captain of the HMS Dauntless.

I headed out my room and went downstairs in the the dining room.

"Good morning father." I said as I entered the dining room. "Good morning Elizabeth" he said.  I sat down across my father at the dining table.

"You called for me?" I asked him. "Yes I did, eat your breakfast and then go pack." Pack? I thought, we must be going somewhere.

"Where are we going father?" This was very unexpected as father would always tell if we were going somewhere in advance.

"Admiral Williams has ordered my ship to go find the treasure chest of Captain Crawford." I didn't even know they had the map it was a very had map to come by.

Even pirates couldn't acquire it, and once you had the map in order to actually see the map you had to prick your finger. Once you did that you would have to drop three drops of your blood on the map to able to see it.

No one else will be able to see it only the person that has pricked their finger will. The only way for someone else to see it is if the person who has acquired the map dies. That was the only way to be able to read the map, or least that's what the legend says.

"Do you have the map father?" I asked because I was vey confused. "I do now eat and go pack, and stop asking questions." Father sounded eager like he wanted to leave that second.

"Yes, father." I said without asking anymore questions. I did as my father told me and ate my breakfast quickly. "Thank you for the meal Mary." I said as I left the dining room.

I then walked up the stairs to my room and started to pack. 5 minutes later I was all ready to go. I grabbed my things went down stairs and met my father.

"Let's go to the ship." We then headed over to the ship my father was captain of, the HMS Dauntless.

I went into the captains chamber to leave my things there. I loved begin on the ship I loved the sea.

"It's always exhilarating begin on the ship, don't you think father?" He wasn't paying attention to me as he was to busy reading the map.

"Father you can read the map but how?" I did what the legend says. "Then you are the only one who can read it." I thought that was very smart of my father, I mean he is a captain of this ship. I did wonder how he got the map, but didn't let my curiosity get the best of me.

My father then gathered all the men and started to give them a pep talk before sailing. "Alright men this mission we have here is different from others we cannot mess up we must be strong, and stick together at all times."

"Yes, captain!" All the men said after father finished. "Alright back to your places." He told all the men. They all saluted and we set sail.

I was still curious on why father wanted to rush so badly so I went to ask my good friend Philip some questions

"Psst Philip." I whispered to him. "Yes, what is it Eliza?" Philip asked me looking confused.  Eliza was my nickname. Only the people who are closest to me called me Eliza otherwise everyone would call me Elizabeth or Miss Lockhart.

"Shh keep your voice down I don't want father to hear." I whispered.

"Ok why's that?" He asked. "I feel like something's not right what did my father say to the crew?" "Well last night he came to see us, and told us to have the ship ready for tomorrow morning."

 "But, why I asked."

"When we asked he just said that Admiral Williams told him to start voyage today to find the ring immortality."

That was vey odd I thought why would father do that. "Wouldn't admiral call for other ships to also join?" I asked Philip.

"Yeah usually that's how it goes, but in some cases we are asked to go on secret missions."

"Thanks, Philip I was just wondering."

"Yeah, alright don't do anything to get you into trouble Eliza." Philip said sounding concerned.

"Don't you worry about me and focus on you." I said to Philip jokingly. "I care about you is all, just stay out of trouble."

"Ok I will." I assured him.

Philip then returned to the rest of crew to see how far we've gone. Philip and I get along pretty well, we are both the same age.

Although he is young, and in the navy he acts very sophisticated unlike some of the men in the navy. We have known each other for a pretty long time I say about six years now.

He came to Port Royal about six years ago. We met in school, and have been friends ever since. He tends to worry a lot about me, but I don't listen I do things my own way.

We'd been sailing in the middle of ocean for many hours. We probably still have a long way to go I don't want got ask father anymore questions about the voyage because he seems stressed, and I'm still not sure why he won't tell me what's going on.

The sun will probably go down soon that's when we really have to be careful because when it's dark out you can't see anything, and it's hard to sail. Usually we stop somewhere to rest, but father said we won't be making port until we make it to treasure cove.

I'm now convinced that he is not only keeping something from me, but the crew too. Even Philip agrees. He told me he also feels something isn't right.

For now I know nothing, I have a feeling father is in deep trouble, and I will find out why soon. All I can do now is try figure out what he's hiding, and also maybe try my best to help him.
