We had finally gotten out of the isle of the mist and the sun was starting to go down. We were close to mermaids cove.

There are many legends of mermaids. Most of them bad. The legend says that the mermaids use their beautiful voice to lure the pirates, and sailors that pass to get them into the water. Once they get them in the water they drown them.

I think all men on this ship are afraid of mermaids. Well I think all men expect Townsend and Philip that is.

Townsend believes in myths such as these, but it does not seems to faze him. Philip doesn't believe in these myths, and therefore it does not scare him.

He only worry's about me and if I will be ok.

Me on the the other hand I am in between at the moment there are things I do believe and things I don't. I have seen people die and I've encountered the dead. If ghosts are real then I'm starting to think that mermaids could be too.

"What's on your mind?" Philip asked me. I had my journal out where I would write about my adventure, and what was happening around me so far on this journey.

"You're looking at your journal so intensively." Philip pointed out to me. I closed my journal and looked up at him. "Nothing that should concern you." I said looking confident.

"Come on Eliza don't be like that." Philip knew I was teasing him I didn't want to show him my journal. It was private I wrote about my fears, and as a woman I had to look fearless so that I was not looked as weak.

"Sorry not this time Philip." I said as I laughed and smiled. Philip just sighed and let it go.

"The sunset is beautiful isn't it?" Philip asked me. "It is indeed, but once it's gone I don't think we will think anything is beautiful." Philip looked at me confused. "What do you mean by that."

I looked at him like he was silly. "We will soon be upon mermaids cove." Philip then just started laughing. I then decided to walk away and put my journal away.

"Oh come on don't tell me you believe in myths now." Philip said as he followed me to the captains chambers.

"Philip we have seen ghosts not just ordinary ghosts, but ghost pirates." I opened the door to the chambers. I then entered my room.

"Ok, but mermaids? Come on we haven't even seen one how can they be real. Plus if there are never any survivors where do the stories come from? That's how I know there are mythical."

I put my journal under my pillow, and turned around to look at Philip. "Shall we get going?" I then proceeded to leave my room Philip followed. We both left the captains chambers.

"Would you look at that." Philip said staring at the sky. "It is indeed beautiful." I said while looking at the sunset. "I think we are close now." I said to Philip as we watched the sun go down.

"What makes you say that?" He asked me. Before I could answer I was interpreted. "The rocks boy, as you can see there are only those large rocks near the mermaids cove that's how we can tell."

It was Townsend he had interpreted me before I could speak. "Precisely  we see many different shapes of rocks all of them looked as if they were craved, but they aren't." Philip just looked at Townsend like he was mad. "yeah ok sure cause rocks just have different shapes now."

Philip walked away mad and I just started laughing. "He's just upset you interpreted our conversation." I continued laughing. "Aye, well I can't say I'm sorry I did mate." Townsend said loudly so that Philip could hear.

I then saw the clouds they were turning grey and the sunlight was almost gone. "I think we might be in trouble, it looks like it will rain soon." I said to Townsend with my voice sounding worried.

"No, it isn't going to rain soon it just means that we are close, very close." I guess we're close to mermaids cove now. "We are nearly almost there we are about to enter, brace yourself Ms. Lockhart." I assumed he meant to be careful.

I kept a close eye on the water just in case. "We are here now, everyone keep a sharp eye." Captain Townsend yelled to the crew. That's when we heard singing coming from the water.

It was elegant and some of the men wanted to jump into the water to hear it closely. "Don't fall for it you scoundrels." Townsend said sounding very mad.

"Marty, Dax tie up the men that are trying to leave the ship." Townsend said to Marty and Dax urgently. This was an urgent matter now.

So much was happening I felt dizzy. I decided to turn away from the water and face what was going on around me. Townsend was busy dealing with the crew on the ship.

It looked crazy, men were walking around as if they were drunk. You'd think pirates always look that way, but this was different. They were trying to jump overboard. The mermaids continued to sing.

That's when one of men in the crew was racing to where I was to get into in the water. He pushed me and I was once again holding the railing. My necklace got caught on one of ropes when I was pushed so I went on my toes to try and get it.

That's when I was pushed again, and the next I knew I was falling over the ship and into the water.

Eliza!" I heard Philip scream before I fell into the water. Everything just happens so fast. As soon as I hit the water everything went dark and all I felt was the cold water.
