Becoming A Pirate

Chapter 17

Townsend got out the boat fist and then handed me his hand to help me out. I grabbed his hand as he helped me out the the boat. I then saw the rest of the crew getting out of their boats. Dax, Marty and Philip were the last ones to get to the island.

Once everyone had gotten out of their boats Townsend gathered everyone. "Be careful mates the Royal know we here." Townsend let everyone know.

"Captain, shouldn't we start moving?" Dax asked Townsend. "Aye let's get going." Townsend said as he started walking.

"Ms. Lockhart you're with me."  He said to let me know that we would be travelling together. I saw Philip across from me I could tell that he hated that I were to walk with Townsend. I was still upset with him so I really didn't want to talk to him. I then walked towards Townsend, and stood beside him.

"Let's get going." I said. Townsend then showed me the way we were supposed to go "after you." He said. I then took out my map and started to walk.

"Where are we to go Ms. Lockhart?" Townsend asked me. "North." I said to him as I pointed to hill. "It looks like a hill, but that's where treasure cove is." I explained to him.

"Alright, then let's head north." Townsend said. Townsend, and I started to walk we were ahead of everyone since we had the map, and everyone was walking in their own pace.

We could still see the crew, but they couldn't hear us. "You must be really mad at little ole Philip boy over there." Townsend said as we kept walking.

"Yes, well we aren't talking right now." I said with an angry tone. "Well maybe that's a good thing then." I was confused by what he meant by that.

"Why do you say that?" I asked him as I was curious to why he thought it was such a great thing. "Ah well that's because he is annoying." He wasn't wrong Philip can be annoying.

"He follows you around like he's a lost puppy." I laughed since I have never recognized that. "Well, I will eventually talk to him for now I just need some space."

Townsend then stopped walking when I saw he stopped I also did. "You really are something else." He said, and the started to walk again.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked. "It means your special Ms. Lockhart, oh look we are already here."

Me special? Townsend thought was special? I was surprised I didn't even know what to say. "Come on Ms. Lockhart we still have more ground to cover."

I snapped out of it and followed him. "Oh, wait hold on" he stopped, and waited for the rest of the crew to catch up. Everyone then stood in front of us.

"Dax, did you guys bring the torches like I asked?" Townsend asked asked Dax as he approached. "Aye, captain." He said as he and Marty brought the torches over.

"You go get some fire wood." Captain Townsend said to one of the crew members. "Aye, captain." He said as he left to find firewood

. "Are we just going to sit around, and make camp, I thought you said the Royal Navy was coming." Philip yelled at Townsend.

"Aye, I did and they do be coming, but do you have a better way to light the torches?." Townsend said with a Sarcastic, and angry tone.

Philip didn't say anything. "Didn't think so mate." Philip looked my way, and I turned away from him. I think he was hoping I would say something to defend him even though I was mad. I didn't want to say anything.

"Aye, mate bring it here." Townsend said to the crew mate that was carrying the wood. He put it down to the side, and Townsend made a fire.

He then grabbed one torch, and lit it he then passed the torch to me. I then took from hand and he lit another one and held it.

"Alright someone put out this fire, and a few of you should stay here, and keep watch to let the rest of us know when the Royal Navy gets here."

Townsend told the crew. "Aye, captain." The crew responded back to him. Townsend picked out six men of the crew to stay, and keep watch.

"Alright let's go mates, it's time to venture into treasure cove."
