The water was cold and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I then opened my eyes. I swam up and was finally able to breathe.
I saw the ship I was still close to by. I looked at it to see if there was some way for me to get up. That's when I was once again pulled down into the water.
There where mermaids all around me. I saw three mermaids around me that were trying to pull me down. I kicked them and tried to swim fast back to the top.
Once I reached the top I gasped for air, but was pulled down again. All the other mermaids around just watched as I was begin tortured. I felt like I was going to die. I thought that this was my end. I was going to die here.
'SPLASH'
It looked like someone jumped from the ship to the water. I was trying to see who it was, but mermaids kept on pushing me down every time I tried to swim up.Then I saw blood in the water, and the mermaids screeching. I thought of this as my chance to once again swim up, so I swam up to the top once again. I gasped for air I felt like I could finally breathe.
Then I saw captain Townsend also swim up. "Come with me." He said. I swam with him. "Fire." He yelled and I saw the cannons begin fired.
Townsend grabbed my hand. "Stay close and you'll be fine." I felt assured, and I don't know if it was adrenaline or the fact he grabbed my hand unexpectedly, but my heart skipped a beat.
Townsend guided me to the other side of the ship where we were safe. Townsend led me to the shrouds so that I could climb up the ship first.
"Go on climb quickly we only have so much time." I grabbed on and started to climb. As soon as made it half way I looked down, and saw that Townsend was also climbing.
I no longer heard the sounds of canons so I guessed the crew stopped firing them. I had finally made it to the top and Townsend came up right behind me. As soon as I had made it to the top Philip hugged me.
"I'm so happy you're ok." He then let go. Captain Townsend put his jacket around me so I that I could be warm. "You should go rest now."
I thought he would've asked me to give him the next heading. "What about the journey don't you need to know where we are to go next?" Townsend looked at me. "Ah, yes you are right, just tell the direction, and I'm sure we'll be fine."
I needed my compass and was searching for it. "Looking for this?" Philip asked me as he handed me the broken compass. "Yes, thank you only the glass was broken so I could still see the compass.
"We are to continue west" I told Townsend in a exhausted and weak voice. "Thank you, Ms. Lockhart on you go now, Marty, Dax with me." Townsend went straight back to business.
"Does he ever just relax?" Philip asked me. "I don't have the slightest idea." We both laughed. Philip then helped walked me to my room.
As soon as we got there he grabbed some towels and laid them on my bed. "There you are." Philip said as he sat me down on my bed.
"I should let you get out of those wet clothes, let me k ow if there is anything else you need." I smiled at him "Philip, could you please make some tea?" I asked him. "Of course." He said as he left the room and closed the door.
I took off Townsend's coat and laid it on the bed. I looked at my closet for clothes that I could wear. I spotted my old dress which I really did love. Since it was the only other thing I had I decided to wear it.
I did know how to make my own dresses and decided I would do that later. I put on my dress I had forgotten how I loved to wearing dresses "yes still a miraculously perfect fit."
I then heard a knock on the door. "Proceed." I said to whoever wanted to enter. "Here's some water it's all I could find."
I had totally forgot I wasn't on any ordinary ship I was on a pirate ship of course there isn't any tea. "Thank you, Philip." Philip smiled "Get some sleep I'm sure we still have some time until we get to treasure cove."
Philip then left the room, and closed the door on his way out. I felt exhausted so I put the water down on a barrel in the room and laid on my bed.
It had just hit that I would face Admiral Williams once again. He was also following us the entire time. I was surprised we didn't encounter him.
Soon this adventure of mine would also be over. Part of me didn't want to leave. I loved of sense of adventure and I was loving the scenery of the beautiful Caribbean sea.
I think I would miss it, and I didn't want to admit it, but I would also miss the pirates that I had been travelling with during my exhilarating adventure.
