Today is a new day I thought as I opened my eyes. I woke up and just sat on my bed. Thinking about yesterday. About how captain Townsend just send those ghosts into the water, I don't fully understand what he did or how he did it but, all I could think was how scary this man could actually be.

He was a pirate! I thought of him as a good man! No he's a just a pirate! Wake up Eliza! He's a pirate! Do what you need to and go back to your old life. Now that I got got that out of my system I thought it was time.

I got up and headed out of the captains chambers. We were still in the isle of the mist. There was some light, but I couldn't see anything the mist was blocking everything around us. I saw captain Townsend talking to Marty and Dax. He looked busy. I decided to look at the water to overcome my fear and see if the ghosts were still there.

I walked over to edge of the ship where would be able to see the water. I held on to the railing and looked down. First keeping my eyes closed, but then slowly opening them. Phew, nothing there. I sighed. I felt much better now. "You weren't going to see them anyways."

I jumped it was Captain Townsend he scared me. "Oh my, are you trying to slowly kill me." I held my hand up to my chest. "No, Ms. Lockhart I would not gain anything from killing you." I looked away from him and directed my eyes to the water.

I didn't want to talk to him. There was awkward silence it seemed like Townsend had something to say, but just couldn't bring himself to say it or just didn't know what to say. "I know you are cross with me right now, but I had to all of me crew were at stake." I turned to him "you wished them away like they were nothing! They were people."

Captain Townsend looked at me confused and with a bit of anger. "They were bloody, no good Scallywag pirates! And you know it." He was right they were, but to me they were still human no matter if they were pirates or not. "What did you do to them. I still don't fully understand." Captain Townsend then proceeded to tell me what he did.

"There's a legend that the pirates of the isle of mist come to life, and approach other pirates ships who are looking for the ring of immortality." I didn't know if he was wroth listening to, but I did regardless.

"Well they try and take whoever dares to pass unless you make a deal with them. Which is to give ten lives of the living that are already on that ship." I was starting to think maybe what I said was wrong. Captain Townsend continued on.

"There's a chant which you can say and it will send the lost souls of the pirates that once we're back into the water. They only show at night so that's why you don't see them now."

I hate to say it, but what he did was brave. I don't think any other pirate knew about or believed this nor would they be brave enough to say the chant. "You did it to save everyone then?"

Captain Townsend then put his back where the railing was, and looked me in the eye. "I did what I had to not only to save me ship and crew, but to also save you." He did it to save me? I couldn't believe it I mean he is a pirate, but just looking at his eyes it was different he seemed like he was somewhat felt concern for me.

Before I could say anything someone had interrupted us. "Eliza." It was Philip. I turned and looked at him, and he walked towards us. "Are you alright? I was worried about you."

"Of course, I am quite well thank you for your concern." Philip smiled and I smiled back at him. That's when I saw Captain Townsend walking towards true helm it looked like Dax was signalling for him to come over.

I had wanted to finish out conversation. It was not finished. I couldn't get the look of his eyes out of my head. He looked so empty so alone. I just couldn't get it out of my head. I wondered what was in that mind of his what he was thinking.

Maybe that why he is keeping me here because he's alone. I decided it not to think about it anymore as I was just now confusing myself.

I pulled out my map and looked at it. Mermaid cove. I wondered what if the legends of mermaids were true or not. If they were then we ought to be very careful passing through because if the legend is true then we could be very much, be in danger.
