"Wait, we are heading straight to the isle of mist right now? how could we leave this minute. "Ye I plan on getting there before the royal navy catch up, why do you not want to leave?" Captain Townsend looked at me confused.

"Well, it's not that, but do you really intend to travel to your first destination with just twenty men as your crew?" Captain Townsend looked around the ship and saw only twenty people on deck.

"Marty! I thought you said all of the crew was on the ship before we left?" Captain Townsend yelled at Marty. "Well, yes captain I did!" Marty looked look worried "You care to tell me that there were only twenty people that were left!?"

I tired to hide my laugh but couldn't and let out a little scoff. Captain Townsend looked back at me and I then stopped laughing. Captain Townsend looked mad as if he was about to kill Marty right then, and then he put his hand on his head and sighed.

"We can't really continue on with the journey now, can we?" I suggested. Captain Townsend then turned looked at me and then walked towards me.

"What is it you suppose we do with just a twenty man crew, please do enlighten me Ms. Lockhart!" As he said this to me he walked closer, and closer towards me.

"Stop, you have no right to be mad at me right now, and for your information I was going to suggest that you could recruit more men to the crew.

" I then looked at Captain Townsend with an angry, and annoyed face and walked away from him.

"Captain!" Dax yelled for Captain Townsend. "Yes, Dax what is it I hope you're not also going to anger me." Captain Townsend looked stressed he looked as if he didn't want to deal with anything right now.

"No of course not, b-but C-Captain we I think the m-miss is right." Dax closed his eyes hoping the captain wouldn't yell. Captain Townsend just signed and went to the helm and grabbed it.

"What are you doing you are not seriously considering we continue with the journey are you?" Captain Townsend ignored me, so I went in front of him, and blocked his view so that he could not sail.

"Get out of the way Ms. Lockhart now !" he seemed angry at me, but I did not care I wanted answers. "No, the last person who didn't tell me anything died so I am not moving!"

"Marty, Dax remove this woman." They both grabbed me and moved me beside the helm. "let me go, what are you doing!" All the memories came rushing back to me again I wanted to just give up.

Then something just hit me I'm strong and smart, and with a bunch of pirates I had to speak the language that they understood. I grabbed he sword that was on Dax's harness, and pushed him on the ground.

Marty then took out his sword out, but I knocked it out of his hand, and also pushed him to the ground. I then grabbed his sword, and pointed both of the swords at Captain Townsend.

"You, shouldn't be pointing swords around especially if you don't know how to use them Ms. Lockhart." He didn't even budge a bit he still didn't take me seriously. "I've actually known how to use and fight with a sword since I was ten so don't test me."

"Marty, Dax get up you useless scoundrels" Marty and Dax both got up.

"At your service Captain" they both said standing straight. "Marty, take the helm" Captain Townsend then came up to me, and I was still pointing the swords at him.

"Put those down already would ya." I didn't put the swords down. "You can either put the swords down or walk the plank your choice milady." I didn't trust him he was a pirate after all why would I trust a pirate. He touched one the swords, and then looked at me.

"Put the swords down." He looked serious like he would kill me if I didn't listen. I dropped both of the swords on the ground. "Now, that is clear let's go over some rules, this be my ship you only guide where I need to go, and everyone will be happy."

He then turned around and stood beside Marty. "Marty we have a new heading" Marty looked confused. "We do Captain? what's our new heading?" Captain Townsend smirked as if trying to be impressive. "We be heading to Tortuga."

"Aye, Captain" Marty said following Captain Townsend's order. I then decided to go sit on the steps that were close to the helm. Captain Townsend then came and sat beside me I just looked at the sea and ignored him.

"You, know your smarter then I thought, and you got guts." I didn't look at him, and just kept looking at the sea.

"Why are we going to Tortuga?" I still wanted to know what was going on. "To get more men to join me crew of course, and what better place to do that then a pirate Island."

Tortuga A pirates island why didn't he just say that in the first place. He then walked over the deck of the ship and stood while looking at the sea. I then followed and looked at him.

"You could've said something earlier you know." He scoffed. "What's so funny?" I asked him. "A lot of me men died trying to bring you here you were right I need more men." I was shocked I never thought of Captain Townsend as someone who would admit they were wrong.

"Don't be causing anymore trouble on me ship, savvy or I'll actually make you walk the plank." For a second there I thought maybe he was an honorable man, but no he's still just a pirate.

"Why would you bring me on board? "Captain Townsend looked at me confused. "What do you mean why did I bring you on board?"

Usually pirates or sailors never brought women on board. I still remember when Father and I were coming to Port Royal  from London, one of the sailors said it was bad luck to have a lady on board.

Father shut them down right away telling him that the crew was actually lucky to have such a intelligent young lady on board, and that he should be quiet. No one ever said anything about me begin on board after that.

"What I mean is, isn't it bad luck to have a lady on board?" He looked at me and laughed. "I didn't think someone like you would even care about that." he was right I didn't really care I thought it was some dumb sailors saying.

"I say It would be bad luck not to have a lady on board." I was surprised as we have not made a good impression on each other this whole time that I've been here.

"Don't cause trouble, and we can both help each other." I wondered why he would want the ring of immorality so badly he was one of the fierce pirate captains out there.

"Townsend, why do you want to go after the ring of immorality" I asked him. "To see if it actually exists, or if it is actually a myth" He said as he started to walk away.

"What will you do if it is real?" He turned around and looked at me. "Destroy it. It will be a while before we make port Ms. Lockhart so make sure  you are ready.

" After he said that he walked over to the helm to check on Marty. I wondered why he would destroy the ring of immorality I was surprised when he said then I mean what pirate wouldn't want to live forever?

I just turned around and looked at the sea while thinking. This will be one adventure in my life I probably won't forget.
