VIII. "The war is won before it's begun"
24 February 2015, Tuesday @ 20:13
There's that old saying "win the battle; lose the war." But then we're told to celebrate our small victories and triumphs. Am I the only one slight confused by the contradiction?
I don't know if it's been with age or with experience that I've learned not to pay attention to either anecdote. What may be a Battle for one person might be a full out war for another. What may be a "small victory" in the eyes of one person could be a goal someone else has been working towards for years. It really is all dependent on the context of a persons situation.
I've learnt to adapt to both circumstances. More so recently. I celebrated like a King (well, a Queen) the day I could eat properly again and won a war when I realised I don't need certain people to make me who I am, even though I lost the battle the first time around, I came back and won that war.
