I went to school the next day looking like a literal trash.
All of the things that happened yesterday stayed in my mind the whole night that I ended up not having a decent sleep at all. I was like a zombie. I couldn't process everything. The fact that I just moved here in Tokyo a month ago but I was already experiencing things involving delinquents and shits was hitting me like a damn bazooka.
The sudden gush of attention that I was getting at school that morning wasn't helping either. People are like, 'why is the new kid with Mikey and Draken yesterday?', 'are they friends? Did you see how Mikey approached her?' and most of all, 'she's not even that cute, why would they hang out with her?'
I mean, seriously? What does my level of cuteness got to do with this?
Hina finally came this morning, and she was confused as hell about the rumors in the school about the Toman leaders coming here yesterday, and also about the fact that Sayuri and I had suddenly become 'friends'. She was absent yesterday so she had no idea about what's happening. I didn't know how I did it but I somehow managed to tell her everything. I told her about the dorayaki incident in the convenience store where I first met Manjiro Sano--which Sayuri was also excited to hear--and about my brother getting beat up so I barged into Toman's territory all by myself and Sayuri ended up saving me.
"So that's why they came here yesterday," Sayuri said. "Turned out those who beat up Nika's younger bro was just using Toman's name, and Mikey and Draken came and taught those bastards a lesson."
"I see," Hina said, nodding. She smiled. "I was just gone for a day and lots of things had happpened to you, Nika."
I just sighed.
"And thanks to that, now I got Draken's number!" Sayuri stood up from her chair and opened her flip phone and showed it to Hina. "It's Draken's number! Shit, I never thought this'll ever happen, I'm printing this shit and frame it, and hang it on my goddamn room so I could stare at it all night!"
"Draken's number?" Hina asked, confused.
"Uh, yeah," I answered. "He gave it to us. He said we're now under Toman's protection--"
"And all we have to do is call whenever we're in trouble and he'll come to the rescue!" Sayuri said, cutting me. She cupped her cheeks and said in a dreamy way, "I can't wait to be in trouble."
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Oh, Sayuri.
"Wow, now you no longer have to worry about bullies," Hina said, smiling. "Mikey and Draken really are nice guys, aren't they?"
I stopped. "You personally know them?"
She nodded and smiled. My eyes widened a little. Really?
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you," Sayuri said, sitting back on her chair. "Hina's boyfriend is in Toman."
My jaw dropped. Hina has a boyfriend?
In Toman?!
"W-what, really?" I asked, surprised. The sweet innocent Hina had a delinquent for a boyfriend? And of all gangs, in Toman?!
Hina nodded and smiled shyly. "Uhm, yes--"
"Look how she blushes." Sayuri said, grinning. She looked at Hina and playfully poke her to the sides. "You're really into Takemichi, huh?"
Hina just smiled and scratched her nape, her cheeks turning red.
Takemichi? Didn't Ken Ryuguji and Manjiro Sano mention that name when they were here yesterday? So that's Hina's boyfriend?
