Kei and I stared at Sayuri as she chugged a whole glass of water down her throat.
"Okay," she said, putting down the empty glass on the table. She took a deep breath. "Oh, my God, I don't even know how to begin."
It was Saturday noon. Kei, Yuki, and I were gathered in the kitchen eating our lunch when the door bell rang, and Sayuri came barging in holding a huge brown paper bag, panting, looking pale and sweaty. She said she have to tell us something, but asked for a glass of water first because she felt like fainting.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"No, girl, I'm fucking dying." She stood up, slamming a palm on the table. "So here's what happened."
She proceeded on telling us how she went to the make-up store near the school after grocery shopping, and how she coincidentally met Inui there. She concluded by telling us he's gay.
My eyes widened, uttering a loud, "what?" while Kei pulled back a little, saying, "you sure?"
"I met his boyfriend, okay? I was--I don't know, he was there, and then his boyfriend appeared and they left, and then I was calling Peh and the idiot was still in the shower, and I didn't know what to do so I came here and--"
"Hey, hey, calm down," I said, motioning to her chair. "Just chill. Sit down, and breathe."
Thankfully, she listened to me and sat down on the chair on the other side of the table, across Kei and me. I noticed that Yuki was still there, silently listening, so I told him to go and play some games in the living room for a while.
"Maybe they're just friends and you're overreacting," I said. "What's the guy's name?"
"I don't know, but he's like tall, black-haired, and super fine--I mean fine as fuck, but so rude!"
Kei's brows slightly pulled together. "Slant eyes, kinda skinny?"
Sayuri pointed at him. "Yes, definitely!"
"It's Kokonoi." He shrugged his shoulders. "Inupi's former co-member when he's still in Black Dragon."
"Are they gay?"
"Nah, they're close friends--oh, wait." Kei paused. "Thinking about it, they really do seem to be so close."
"So they're gay?"
"I'm not saying--"
"Oh, my God, so they are! My Inui is gay!" She stood up, clutching her chest. "I don't deserve this, this just hurts too much! This is--this is all Peh's fault!"
I had no idea how Inui being gay became Peh's fault but I chose not to say anything, and just let her express her frustration and 'pain'. I just sat there and watch her be dramatic over it, and I mean, I totally understand why my friend was acting like this. She really likes Inui a lot.
I didn't know how she ended up crying on Kei's chest and Kei was awkwardly--and uncomfortably--patting her on the back.
"I don't deserve this, Baby Kei."
"Uh.. yeah?"
"My heart is breaking." She sniffed, putting a hanky on her nose. "So, are you free tonight?"
"What?"
That was when Yuki came to the kitchen, bringing someone along. It was Peh.
"The door bell rang," my brother said. "He's looking for Sayuri."
Sayuri groaned, not wanting to part from Kei's chest but she rolled her eyes as she had no choice. She cursed under her breath. "Ugh, shouldn't have told him to come!"
