Chapter 38

First of all, happy new year guys. I hope y'all enjoyed the holidays.

It's been so long since the last update, so I suggest you backread (xd) but if you're lazy (like me lol), here's a short recap to kind of refresh your minds.

Here's what's happened (important things onli) in the last three chapters:

• Takemichi is finally caught by Sayuri and Nika. Takemichi had no choice but to tell Nika about her future.

• (2018) Naoto receives a call from PSIA. The woman's corpse with Nika's face has finally been identified because someone claimed her body. They are about to know her true identity.

• Kokonoi is revealed as the vice captain for Panthera Tigris Shibuya Chapter. He meets the Oshiro brothers, Yagi and Zawa. Panthera Tigris is set to crush Toman in order to expand its territory in Shibuya.

"Hey."

I flinched when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to my right only to see Mikey's face.

"Hmm?"

He poked my nose with a finger and sat beside me, smiling. "You're spacing out."

The day was bright and the sun was high up in the clear sky. The fresh morning air gently blew as the two of us sat there on the grass, beneath the cool shade of the tree. For a moment I forgot that he was there as my mind wandered off again.

"Look," he excitedly said, making me turn to what he was trying to show. "Tadaa~"

I stared on a small, rectangular mount on the ground with a huge stone on the top. The space was cleaned and all cleared of grass.

"Daddy cleaned your tomb, Tako." He was staring at the little tomb. "Mommy didn't help, she's daydreaming."

I just looked at him and smiled.

"Are you okay?"

I nodded.

He took a sigh and looked at the view ahead, eyes squinting as he stared at the river. I did the same and watched as the sunlight seem to make the water sparkle.

I heard him yawned beside me, stretching his arms up in the air. Seeing that he seemed to be getting sleepy, I gently pulled him down and put his head on my lap. I saw him smiled as he shifted his body, trying to be comfortable on the bed of grass with my legs as his pillow. He looked up at me and chuckled. "You look weird at this angle."

"Really?"

"Uh-huh." He smiled. "But still pretty."

As he laid there and I was playing with his hair, he told me how excited he felt because it's going to be August in less than two weeks. His friend, Pah-chin, was finally to be realeased from juvie.

"He'll be glad to meet you," he said. "And you'll like him, he's fun."

"Yeah, I've heard a lot about him from Peh. He talks about him all the time."

"Pah's just as stupid as Peh, you'll see."

We both chuckled.

"August is going to be fun, for sure," I said, twirling a bunch of his hair in my forefinger. "It's gonna be your birthday."
