Chapter 33

Emma's squeal echoed in the four corners of the dimly lit living room.

She cowered in the corner of the sofa and hid herself behind Draken, covering her face with her palms. All because of the sudden appearance of the skull monster on the TV screen.

"The heck," Draken hissed, almost chuckling. "It's just a movie."

Right after the sun had set, the four of us ended up in the Sanos' house after enjoying ourselves with a ride around the city. We just had our dinner when everyone decided to have a movie marathon, and so we're now gathered in the living room in front of the TV.

"But it's scary!"

"Nah, it's not real."

Emma hit Draken on the arm. She looked at me. "It's scary, right Nika?"

I nodded.

She looked back at him. "See? Even Nika thinks it's scary!"

After watching a romantic movie that Emma chose, the boys got bored so we decided to watch some horror. And now, Draken was laughing because Emma was scared while Mikey was slouched in the sofa and almost asleep beside me.

I turned to him only to see his bored, unsmiling face. I almost chuckled. Cute.

"Sleepy already?" I asked.

He looked at me and gave a small smile. Stretching his hands, he leaned on my shoulders and furtively whispered, "those two are so annoying."

The light from the TV screen was flashing on our faces and Emma squealed for the second time as the monster appeared once again. While the other two was busy focusing their eyes the screen, I felt Mikey rested his chin on my shoulder. "Why are you not scared?"

I only smirked. "I've seen the movie before."

"Let's watch something else then," he whispered. His smile widened, leaning even closer to me. "I got some new movies in my room."

I innocently turned to Emma and Draken. "Guys, Mikey said he has--"

He covered my mouth. "Why are you telling them?"

"I thought--"

"Na-ah, just us!"

"What?" Emma looked at us. "You're saying something, Nika?"

Mikey and I looked at each other. I was a little confused. At the same moment the movie had just ended and as I was just about to say a word, Emma had already stood up to grab the remote as the credits started rolling on the screen.

"Alright, that would be it for tonight," she said, turning it off. "I can't watch anything more, I'll die."

Draken chuckled. "The skull monster will visit you in your dreams."

She glared at him. "Stop!"

The night was getting deeper so it was then decided that we call it a day. After the four of us cleaned our mess in the living room, Emma and I had already prepared ourselves to go to bed. I would be sleeping together with her in her room, while Draken would be staying with Mikey in the garage. We had already exchanged 'Good night' and 'see you in the morning' with the guys and now Emma and I were both lying on her bed, staring at the ceiling and exchanging our thoughts.

"I want to spend more times like this," she said, smiling. "It's fun, wasn't it?"

I smiled back. "It is."

It was really fun. We got to eat some delicious street foods in Tokyo as we rode around, we got to have some laughs together, shared a dinner that Emma and I cooked, and we got to watch some movies. It really made me happy that I got to spend the whole afternoon and evening with Mikey specially since the day started with him not texting me.
