"There is no good or evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it." -Voldemort
...
Christmas came and went, and before I knew it, I was back at Hogwarts. It was January 4th, and winter term had just started.
The days were cold, snow piled layer upon layer outside the castle windows. Students wore their robes close to them, pulling the scarfs a bit more tight, wore hats and on extremely cold days, gloves.
The classrooms were decently warm, but the corridors were damp and freezing.
One day after my last class, I was walking to the Great Hall alone, Albus had Charms, and I'd had Potions.. And Airana had Defense Against the Dark Arts. So there I was, tramping along, when I heard hushed whispers. Stopping and peering curiously around a corner, I see a blur of green-
Slytherins.
Older Slytherins, actually.
Now that I was closer, I realized that they weren't just whispering, they were arguing.
"It was my Dad who was the one to help him! Your poor excuse for a father didn't do anything!"
"Didn't do anything?!" A boy who I recognized as Aine Rowle whispered angrily. "I'll have you know that my father was there too, he was the one who gave Dolohov the wand!"
"My Dad was the one to go and check Dolohov in the first place! He came up with the idea of giving Dolohov a wand, all your father did was obey my Dad's orders!" The other boy growled.
"Oh shush, both of you! Someone might hear-" A girl with brown hair says.
"Shut up Diane." The two arguing boys snapped.
The girl, Diane, huffed, and left.
Coming... Towards me.
I scramble away, running swiftly to the Great Hall. I prayed that Diane didn't see my cloak flowing behind me as I turned around the corridor.
---
The Great Hall was already packed with students, and the usual chatter.
I sat down at the Slytherin table, half-heartedly greeting Al, and finishing dinner quite fast. I didn't dare talk to Albus, afraid that someone might overhear. But before leaving the Great Hall, I stopped Al from leaving, whispering urgently.
"I'm going to go to our common room- meet me there, and bring Airana." I say, running and reaching the Room of Requirement, breathless. I picture our common room, and go inside. Flopping onto the ground in front of the crackling fire, I breathe deeply, trying to calm myself and my racing thoughts.
Dolohov...
Wand...

Should've listened to the girl. Someone heard you after all... I thought bitterly.
The door suddenly opened, and Albus and Airana walked over, sitting down.
"So, care to explain?" Airana asked.
