"Beep- beep beep beep beep". That sound filled the room. My eyes were closed. I opened them up but the light in the room was to bright. My eyes slowly started to adjust to the light. Where am I? I looked around the room. I tried to move my arm but something was holding it down. I looked to the side of the bed. Marco had his head on the railing on the bed I was in. He held my hand. Just then a doctor walked in. "Ah I see that you are awake." He said while checking some equipment next to my bed. "Where am I and how did I get here? The last thing I remember was being in a snow drift." I told him. " Your in a hospital right now, and how you got here is the young man holding your hand right now just saved your life. He found your body in the snow and brought you here." He told me. "Where exactly is here?" I asked him. He looked down at me away from the machines. "Rocky Mountain Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado." He told me. I nodded my head he grabbed some papers. "I'm Dr. Morris and if you need anything, just give me a shout." He told me while signing something on the paperwork. Dr. Morris walked out of the room and my attention turned back to Marco. He started to wake up. He sat up an rubbed his eyes. When he put his hands down he saw that I was awake. "Oh My gosh your awake!" He said while getting ready to hug me. I scooted over so he couldn't. "Look, I'm sorry that I yelled at you! I didn't mean anything!" He told me. Tears filled my eyes. "You said that I was a brat, and that I'm the reason my mom left." I said while tears were streaming down my face. He sighed. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" He said while his eyes started to water. "I think it's best if you just go." I said while turning my head away from him. "Fine and your welcome." He said while standing up. "For what?" I asked him. "For saving your life." He said while leaving the room. I sat there shocked. Did he really mean all those things? Just then I get pulled out of my thoughts when Jonah walks in the room. "Yay your awake!" He screams running up to me and giving me a hug. I laugh and hug him tight. "You've been out cold for 3 days! I thought you would never wake up." He exclaims. I giggle. "Yep here I am." I told him. He let go of me. "Where did Marco go?" He asked looking around the room. I sighed. "I told him to a...." I stalled. He looked annoyed. "To a what?!" He yelled. "To leave." I said quietly. He looked shocked. "You told the person that saved your life to just leave? Did you even say 'thank you'?" He asked me. "Well um-....." I was cut off by the doctor walking in the room. "Alright Miss, you are free to go once we have your parents sign you out." He told me. "Um I don't have a dad, and I'm here looking for my mom." I told him. "Oh ok, do you have your moms number?" He asked me. "She doesn't have a phone." I told him. he sighed sounding frustrated. He looked down at his paper work and wrote something down. "Do you at least have an idea where she is?" He asked without looking up from his paperwork. "Nope, she was suppose to be back a long time ago, but she never returned." I told him sadly. Jonah started to cry silently. I grabbed his hand and held it. He looked up and smiled at me. I wiped his tears away with my thumb. "Well wait here and I will go make some phone calls." He said leaving the room. "Do you think he'll help us find Mom?" Jonah asked. I sighed. "I don't know but I hope so." I replied.
