I opened up the cabinets.

Nothing but a couple of crumbs. I looked over at my brother. He sighed and walked over to the living room and sat down on the couch.

"How about I go hunting while you stay here?" I hollered at him.

"Fine, but don't be gone for very long."

I walked into my room and grabbed my camo backpack along with some other stuff. I put a rope and net, a can of animal food, and a water bottle in my backpack. I grabbed my camo jacket and bow and arrow and headed out the door.

When I walked into the forest I realized I forgot to tell my brother the rules. I walked back inside the house to find Jonah crying on the floor. I ran up to him and held him in my arms.

"Jonah whats wrong? What happened?" I asked him.

He took of his sock so I could see his swollen ankle.

"I-I was j-jumping up and d-down on the couch, w-when I fell off." He cried.

I picked him up and sat him down on his bed and got the first aid kit. I wrapped his foot up in bandages and made a cast with it.

I went to the spare closet in the hallway and got some crutches for him to use. I put some ice on his swollen ankle and gave him a glass of water and a pain killer pill too.

He laid down in his bed and stopped crying. I watched as he looked at his new cast.

"Is it broken?" He asked me.

"No I don't think so. I just think you sprained it."

 "Oh."

"But we'll have mom look at it when she comes home just to be sure." I explained.

"So why did you come back anyway?"

He picked at the cast around his foot and I smacked his hand slightly and he giggled.

"I forgot to tell you the rules of what to do while I'm gone." I told him.

 He smiled at me.

"Oh, well I'm really glad you came back."

"Me too." I said while smiling back at him.

"Well I'm gonna go back hunting, but this time I want you to stay in bed. And is you hear knocking on the front door, don't answer it. I'm gonna take a walkie-talkie with me so that way you can tell me if anything happens."

I pulled a walkie-talkie out of his desk and tossed it to him.

"How will I know that its not you who is knocking?" He asked me.

"I'm taking a key so I can get inside the house. Mom has one too so if she comes home before I do, then just tell me."

 He smiled and nodded.

"Get some sleep, I'll be back in a little while."

He closed his eyes and I kissed his head. He laid the walkie-talkie on the table next his bed. I grabbed another walkie-talkie from his desk and a key and locked the door and headed out again. After I got about fifty yards south of the house. I made a trap.

I took the can of animal food and laid a spoonful of it down on the log. I took the rope and the net and tied them together. I threw the rope up high and tossed it over a tree branch about 10 feet above the log with the food on it.

I hid behind a bush and held the other end of the rope in my hands. I waited and waited and about 30 minutes later a raccoon came by and sat on the log and started to eat. I let go of the rope and the net instantly fell onto the animal.

I took out my bow and arrow and shot the animal. I smiled to myself.

"Yes!" I whispered.

Just then I heard a voice behind me.

 "Not bad, for a girl."
