Part 13 || smile

A/N's POV

Jake: "y/n... I think I-" the boy wanted to say something but he couldn't. There was something bothering him but he just couldn't say it. He let go of the girl and covered her under his jacket

Y/N: "won't you get-"

Jake: "I don't care just- let's go" he smiled and the girls heart skipped a beat. They felt a spark with each other for that brief moment. Y/n's feelings towards Jake were getting stronger and were getting weaker for Dongmin. This was worrying her since she still likes Dongmin but she's scared to like Jake at the same time. She sighed as she ran home with Jake.

Once they got in, they quickly went to their own rooms to dry off. As they both finished taking a shower and getting ready for bed, they couldn't stop themselves from smiling thinking about their day. Jake finished earlier, so he went out and cooked some ramyeon for himself. He thought that y/n went straight to bed after a while of her not coming out. He slurped some noodles and smiled while chewing. He chuckled at the flashback when he was teaching her basketball. His thoughts were cut off when y/n went out of her room

Y/N: "you're still up?" She questioned since it was already almost 11:00pm

Jake: "I thought you went straight to bed after today" he chuckled and she approached the boy sitting in front of him.

Y/N: "is there another one? I'm kinda hungry" she held her stomach as a gesture. Jake panicked for a second since there was only 1 left and it was the one he was eating

Jake: "oh shoot sorry this is the last one" the girl frowned. He wanted to do something about it. He didn't wanna leave her hungry.

Y/N: "it's fine I'll just go to the 24/7 mart and-"

Jake: "no!" He stopped the girl as she slowly started standing up. She looked at Jake confused "you can just share mine. It's dangerous for you to go out at this time and it's still raining I don't want you getting sick" she tried her best not to smile as she thought about Jake caring for her. He stood up and handed her a pair of chopsticks. He pushed the ramyeon between them on the table and they both took and slurp of the noodles

Y/N: "waaaah! This is so good!" She smiled and took another bite. Jake giggled and drank some of the soup. As they talked and ate at the same time both of them took a slurp but this time there was a long noodle that connected them. Both of them widened their eyes, not in nervousness or in shock, but in amusement that it happened to them. They slowly started biting it towards the middle little by little leaning in towards each other until their faces were 3 inches apart. Jake didn't know what to do, he wanted to do something he knows he shouldn't. Y/n, being the gullible and playful girl bit the noodle in half breaking it and slurped what was left for her. She laughed and leaned back on her chair. Jake laughed as he watched the girl.

Y/N: "oh my gosh! It was just like in the movie! *laughs*" Jake tilted his head as he just watched the girl. Just watching her makes me feel so... he couldn't find the words. So...? So happy? Energized? Just those good feelings...

<time skip 1 week>

Within that week it's all been laughs and teasing between Jake and y/n. They hung out with John and Enhypen but in the dorm by themselves it's all been bonding. Movies, midnight snacks, getting to know one another and so much more things that brought them closer to one another.

John's POV

Sunghoon: "bet Jake and y/n are gonna come with smiles on their faces"

Sunoo: "how is that a bet? Don't they always come smiling together" he said exaggerating the word 'always'

John: "look here they come" as they approached us, just as we predicted they were smiling from ear to ear.

We greeted them and made our way to our own classes. Enhypen had class together on their own while y/n and I had our first lecture together

John: "so I see bestie here got closer to mister Jakey" I teased and she playfully hit my arm but she was still smiling.

Y/N: "oh stop" we laughed and took our seats somewhere at the back. We brought out our stuff that we needed for class

John: "y/n do you have-"

Y/N: "here you go" she handed me an eraser and I chuckled. I always forget my eraser and I always borrow hers

John: "thanks... by the way, how's Dongmin?" Her smile dropped

Y/N: "he's fine I only got to talk to him 3 times last week" I wondered if it was y/n who didn't want to call or it was Dongmin who didn't call

John: "did he not try calling you?"

Y/N: "he did, every night actually... anyway did you study for our quiz?" I sighed as she tried changing the topic

John: "no I didn't, honestly didn't even know we had, probably gonna fail anyway but what do you mean he called every night?" She sighed frustrated her tack tick didn't work

Y/N: "I just told him I was busy no big deal"

John: "ohh ok..." she sounded like she was getting more frustrated with me asking so I just decided to stop and stay quiet. So she made an excuse to not call with Dongmin so she could hangout with Jake?

Y/N: "sorry I didn't mean to sound annoyed, he's fine and we're ok..." We talked about him a bit more until I asked about their memories together

Y/N: "the day he asked me to be his girlfriend was a really memorable day" she finally smiled thinking about it "my friends told me to meet them by the school rooftop but when I got there it was Dongmin kneeling down while holding a single rose. That's when he asked me to be his girlfriend and all our friends came out cheering us on" she chuckled at the memory

John: "wow, you guys really did connect huh" I leaned my cheek on the palm of my hands with my elbow resting on the table in front of us but still facing her

Y/N: "yeah... I guess" her tone sounded like she wasn't sure but we both just brushed it off but still we both knew what that tone meant

<time skip>

We finished our classes today and now we were all walking back to our dorms. We actually all live in the same dorm building just on different levels. As we were all walking back I stayed beside Jake and y/n. But it was like I didn't exist. These two kept talking and laughing about nonsense none of us understood

Jake: "oh! Remember crickers?"

Jake&Y/N: *LAUGHS*

Enhypen and I looked at each other totally lost.

Niki: "crickers?"

They each had an arm over the other helping the other calm down from laughing

Jake: "no cause *laughs*" we rolled our eyes as he couldn't even talk without laughing

Y/N: "cause we were *laughs* we were watching *pants* a scary movie and then *laughs* and *pants* *laughs*" we looked at each other giving looks but giggling a bit from their contagious laughter

Jake: "she *laughs* during the jump scare, y/n *laughs* she screamed and then *laughs* she shouted crickers *pants* then fell off the couch and then *laughs*"

Y/N: "and then I *laughs* I hit Jake with my foot!"

Jake&Y/N: *LAUGHS*

It honestly wasn't that funny and we were all thinking it we didn't wanna burst their little bubble. I look at y/n's facial expression and her face... it was so different. She looked so much livelier and happier. Her smile, it was different from when she talked about Dongmin. Yes I know she was laughing but just throughout the day. Her smile was always different when it came to Jake. Don't ask why I know her smile. I just tried observing what lipgloss she uses so I could get it myself. 🙄
