Part 22 || ignoring

Jake's POV

I woke up with a smile excited to see y/n. I went out of my room and called out to her. I wasn't getting any response back so I knocked on her door to check if she was there. After getting no response again I just went inside her room. Empty. She wasn't here? I went to the kitchen to get some food and that's when I saw a note

Hey Jakey~ Dongmin fetched me this morning but I promise I'll be back home by sunset. I made some food for you it's in the microwave. Just heat it up if it gets cold!! LOVE YOU!!

I sighed and walked to the microwave. I wanted to hangout with her today... I heated up the food she made me and waited for it to finish. I mean is he really that fun? He's such a jerk *ding* I got my food and stabbed it with my fork. Uhh I could've cut him up easily like this steak. I angrily bit down on my food with a frown on my face. That quickly disappeared when I fully got to taste it. I forgot y/n learned how to cook from Jay hyung. I laughed to myself but quickly returned to my frown while eating my food.

Y/N's POV

We went out of campus and did all sorts of fun stuff. I forgot how fun it was to hangout with Dongmin. "

Dongmin: "Oh! We could grab some Japanese food if you want"

Y/N: "sounds great!" As we were walking I stumbled a bit making Dongmin catch me

Dongmin: "woah careful y/n" I chuckled brushing it off. His chest was right in front of me and that's when my face fell. Why do I smell a girls perfume? I sniffed him discreetly again making sure. This isn't mine. I don't use that kind of scent.

Y/N: "do you have any friend or cousins here?"

Dongmin: "nope, I don't know anyone here. Why?" He answered confidently. Suspiciously too confident

Y/N: "oh... nothing, never mind" I smiled reassuring him but something was going on. I received a ding on my phone and I went and checked who messaged me

Hey bun bun! Thanks for the food it was really good! When you get home wanna go shopping?

I couldn't since I just did with Dongmin

A/N's POV

He frowned at her answer and left her on read. He was getting annoyed already. I shouldn't bother with this. He called up Enhypen and John and asked if they could hangout. They all met up in Jungwon's dorm and had some bro time

Sunghoon: "just admit it Jake, you like her. Thats why you've been in a bad mood"

Jake: "stop it if she wants to hangout with her boyfriend she can. Why should I care about who she hangs out with" he harshly placed his cards down making everyone look at each other giving that look

Jake was upset. Well upset and jealous of course, but he wouldn't admit that to himself. He figured he had no right to be jealous. He wasn't any more than her friend and roommate. He convinced himself that y/n could do whatever she wanted and he won't even try bothering her anymore. He'd just mind his own business letting her be just like they were, the first time they met

Jake was back in his dorm just hanging around his the living room. His own room got a bit stuffy so he just felt like lying around. He was watching videos in YouTube and it was around 5:30pm just when the sun was setting so it was still bright

Y/N: "Jake!" Y/n called out entering their dorm. She was excited to see Jake and show him the stuff she bought just for him. He averted his gaze towards the girl who had 2 medium sized bags on one hand. He looked at her with a poker face and didn't say anything "did you eat dinner? Oh! I can cook something for us. By the way I got you-"

Jake: "I'm tired y/n, talk to you later" he left the girl and entered his room closing the door. She felt a sudden wave of worry through her whole body. Did she do something wrong? She thought about it if she misspoke or did something to get him angry but she couldn't think of anything. She decided to let him be and unpack the things she bought. She took out the jacket she bought for Jake. The jacket Jake's been wanting that was pretty expensive which she bought with her own money. She felt like she wanted to give a thank you gift to him for always being there for her. She sighed laying it flat on her bed. I'll give it to him tomorrow... she sat down on the other side of the bed and used her phone relaxing for a while.

It's already 7:30 and Jake hasn't come out of his room yet. Y/n has already eaten dinner but she wasn't sure if Jake has so she went up to his door and tried knocking

Y/N: "Jake? Are you busy?" He was laying down on his bed with his back facing the door. He averted his gaze to the side a bit but not all the way at the sound of her voice "if you're awake I made some food for you. It's in the microwave, so just heat it up ok?" She didn't receive a response and she sighed "I made your favorite..." she said hoping that would get him to budge but nothing "Jake please, why're you ignoring me? Did I do something wrong? You're not like this" she scrunched her face hoping he'd at least give a hum in response but nothing. He hasn't acted like this except for the first time we met. She felt tears spreading through her eyes making her lift her head up looking at the ceiling hopefully preventing her from crying.

She blinked a few times and sniffled. She chuckled sadly and exited their dorm wearing her sandals and a hoodie. The boy stood up and checked where she went. He peeked outside his door and saw she was gone. He sighed frustrated not knowing what to do. Y/n made her way to John's dorm and knocked a few times.

John: "y/n?" She looked up at him and the look of worry on his face made y/n break down. John hugged her right away and he let her cry on his chest

Y/N: "h-he keeps ignoring m-me. I don't- I don't even kn-know what I d-did wrong" she cried wiping her tears off of her face while trying to reason with herself. John sighed frustratedly since he knew Jake might've done something like this with the way he spoke earlier.

John: "y/n... do you think that maybe... he's ignoring you cause he's jealous?" He took a giant leap in asking this question

Y/N: "huh?" She pulled away from the hug looking up at him after wiping her nose

Y/N's POV

John: "ehk wait, here, blow your nose first" he handed me a tissue and I chuckled blowing my nose and shooting it into the trash can across the room. You're not varsity in basketball for 8 years and didn't pick anything up from it.

Y/N: "you were saying?"

John: "you don't think he's ignoring you cause he's jealous?" I tightened my eyebrows together.

Y/N: "is he jealous cause I'm giving more attention to Dongmin than him?" He made a face that said 'yes kind of and something else'

John: "did it ever come to you that he might be jealous cause he likes you?"
