sorry for the wait, i had a chapter written but i didn't like it so i deleted it a bunch of times lol. still don't know how i feel about this. it's is kind of a slow chapter so honestly it wouldn't make a difference if you skipped it.

also i was looking back at my old text messages and the way i used to text...

you woke up with a start, growing worried for a second when you saw the unfamiliar hotel room. the events of the past few days flooded back to you and you sighed, leaning back on the headboard and looking over to your right side.

schlatt was snoozing still, his face buried in the pillows and his back bare from when he shed his shirt after claiming it was too hot in the room. you weren't complaining, of course. the two of you had slept on opposite sides of the bed, barely even brushing against each other despite the relatively small bed.

though you did want to start over with schlatt, you knew you had to get it all sorted out first. you had to deal with clay, then you had to thoroughly go through your intentions with schlatt long term. you didn't want to dive in too quick and risk the same outcome happening.

you felt schlatt shift beside you and when you looked at him, he was cracking open one eye. he gave you a sleepy smile before placing his head back on the pillow.

"good mornin'," he mumbled, his speech slurred with sleep.

"good morning," you returned the greeting, smiling slightly when schlatt rolled onto his back, exposing his stomach.

he was no body builder, but he was more than well toned. you could see the outline of abs that you hadn't noticed the night of the party, and you were pleasantly surprised. when schlatt exhaled heavily, it only further defined the muscles and you had to look away to stop those thoughts that you knew were pretty much inevitable around schlatt.

"mm, when's your flight?" schlatt asked you, his voice husky from lack of use.

"around 4pm."

"that's when mine is, too," he mumbled, yawning after, "can i see your details? we might have the same flight."

you nodded and opened your phone, taking a screenshot of the flight information and sending it to his phone. his phone buzzed when the message sent but he didn't reach for it, instead covering his face with his bicep.

"i'm gonna go shower," you broke the silence. schlatt nodded and turned over, once again pushing his face into the pillows.

you rushed to the bathroom, trying to get into the tub as fast as you could so you could take a nice, long shower.

it only took about half an hour for you to finish showering, and that kind of sucked because you knew you had to face the real world once you got out of the bathroom.

but the real world wasn't so bad yet, as you got out of the bathroom and saw schlatt, shirtless, ordering room service while leaning against the kitchen counter that held the microwave.

"ordered waffles. ya want anythin' else?" schlatt asked, putting his hand over the phone.

"no, other than syrup," you replied. he nodded and repeated what you said into the phone, giving a short 'thanks, bye' after and hanging up.

"it'll be here in a few minutes. i suggest ya go get changed," schlatt said, eyeing you up and down. your face reddened a little. you had forgotten that you were wrapped in only a towel.
