i listened to 505 by AM like 100 times while making this, it's such a good song. anyway sorry for the wait, i hope you all like this chapter.

they've been a little slow but don't worry, there will be better chapters soon!

you were finally back home, sitting in your bed and listening to your favourite song with bullet working on a peanut butter filled kong nearby. schlatt had been next to you during the flight, being respectful and not trying to make any moves on you because you had told him about your dilemma with clay.

he didn't attempt to give you one of those motivational pep talks either, which you were grateful for. you knew you would snap if you heard him say some stupid shit like, "no matter what, i'll always be here for you."

you grimaced at just the thought. if schlatt was good at one thing, it was understanding what you needed at the time. he never pushed boundaries, never gave you too little or too much. it was perfect.

being alone for those few days gave you a lot of time to think, and you realized how hard you must've been to handle for him. you had been the one to run from commitment, you had been the one to break things off, you had been the one to wrong him. he never did anything wrong, yet he was always apologizing.

it was wrong. you should be the one apologizing, and you had the intention to. you just had to work out things with clay. then, you could give schlatt your full effort and attention, which he deserved from the beginning.

clay had really fucked things up. sure, it might have been a little attempted kiss, but you don't remember giving off any signals that were a green light for him to try shit on you. it confused you. what had you done to give him the wrong impression? you never got too close, never touched him too much. maybe it was because you said you love him? but that was platonic, you had been saying it for months. he knew it was platonic.

so why did he think it was okay to push you like that? even if you had given signals, he should have asked for consent anyway. it was basic human decency. schlatt did it all the time, even when you two were dating.

speaking of schlatt, you wanted to talk to him. you missed him even though it had only been a few days since you last spoke to him. it was nice having someone who thought the same way you did and had the same humour.

you picked up your phone and clicked his contact, facetiming him. he answered after two rings. that was another thing that you liked (loved) about him. he was always ready to talk and help you out, whether it was advice or just listening.

"hey, sweetheart," schlatt said, his new york accent thick. you grinned, it was comforting hearing his cute little pet names.

"hi. what're you doing?"

"not you, unfortunately. just makin' some cereal," he said casually. you choked a little but tried your best to play it off. you knew he noticed the way you coughed a little but all he did was give you a knowing smirk.

"thats, uh, good," you cleared your throat, "i was wondering if you wanted to join a stream. just one where we answer questions and play some music."

"are ya turnin' on your camera?"

"i don't think so. i mean, i did a face reveal so i don't think i need the camera."

"oh, no, you don't need the camera. but can ya stay on facetime so i can see ya?"

you almost hung up because of how cute schlatt was being. christ, you couldn't stand how perfect he was.
