THIRD PERSON POV

Ban was awoken was his slumber when he heard his father, or rather the man he'd want to be his father, zhivago, curse, followed by a thud.
Ban opened his eyes but it was hard to see in the darkness, luckily due to Zhivagos orange clothes Ban was able to make him out at the bottom of the stairs.

'There he goes' Ban thought to himself. He knew that Zhivago snuck out every night to go home to his actual son. The thought of that made Ban feel a hint of jealousy he knew he had no right for.
His eyes started adjusting to the darkness as he continued to watch Zhivago get up and then leave.
The soft click of the door to their underground home was like the click of turning on a lightbulb in Bans head.
'I'll follow him!' He thought as he got up and ran out, not forgetting to be silent, after all he knew that if zhivago was to catch him he wouldn't allow him to come.
He immediately got up. He slows in his clothes so he didn't need to put anything on, so he was quickly out of the door, seeing Zhivago walking down the alleyway.

Ban kept on sneaking along, making sure to hide behind anything as Zhivago was often looking over his shoulder.
He had said that he didn't want the guards to know where he lived, but ban wondered why he didn't just have his son with him in town instead of taking this risk?
It was a question that was answered shortly after leaving the town.

Ban was hiding behind a bush, looking through the branches when suddenly his eyes widened as he saw Zhivago's clothes rip as he underwent some kind of transformation.
He was bowing down so Ban couldn't see his face until he finally stood upright again.

Ban gasped.

Ban had no education, client even read, but he did know what he was seeing.
Zhivago wasn't human.
He was a werefox.
Monsters that supposedly lived in this part of the country.
He had thought they were legend.

Unfortunately for him, while Bans mind was whirling, Zhivago had heard his gasp, but he didn't know who it was.
His kind immediately reared and thought it was a guard, so he was ready to attack as he slowly stalked towards the bush.

Ban noticed how coat he'd gotten but there was no escape, so when in a jump went next to the bush, his eyes widened as they locked with Ban's.

"Z-Zhivago?"

Zhivago had absolutely no words as terror shot through his entire body.
"No..." Zhivago whispered as he took a single step back. "No no no no no..." he chanted as his eyes quickly filled with tears.
"Ban... you weren't supposed to.. see me like this" Zhivago said in a tone Ban had never heard from him before.
He almost sounded broken. And with that same tone zhivago then let out a dry laugh.
"I'll understand it if it hate me now"

Bans eyes suddenly filled with tears he refused to shed. He ran forward and then kicked Zhivago s as hard as he could on his calf which led Zhivago to let out a painful Yelp, yet he couldn't bring himself to scold the boy.
"Stupid stupid stupid old man!" Ban yelled as he kicked again, this time weaker as his body got overwhelmed by emotions.
"I don't trust humans! I don't...I don't trust them! I never will!" Bans dams broke as the tears began to flow. "B-but...apparently you're not human, so i trust you! Only you! I- I always will..." he looked down to try and hide it, which made sure that he didn't notice the look of sheer surprise and relief on Zhivagos face.

"Oh Ban..." Zhivago sobbed as he fell to his knees and brought ban into a big warm hug.

"I can't hate you...dad.." Ban gathered his courage and called Zhivago what he had always wanted to call him.
As for Zhivago, it only made him sob harder. Ban didn't hate him. He still loved him. He called him "dad" for the first time.

"I love you, Ban. I'm Sorry I kept this from you..."

"You better he...stupid old man.." Ban sniffled.

The two sat there in embrace until they had both calmed down. When they had. Zhivago gently pushed back to look into Ban's eyes.

He was about to say something, but Ban beat him to it.
"Your son, he's a werefox too right? That's why you have to sneak out to see him? He can't shapeshift like you?"

Zhivago smiled and nodded.
"Yes, Sellion is a werefox just like me, but werefoxes only gain the power to shapeshift later on in life. He can't yet"

"He must be lonely..." Ban looked down.

"Yes, I'm afraid so...I try to go between you two as much as I can, because you both need me..."

"But.." Ban started, but what he was about to say made him blush in embarrassment "I...I don't need to stay in Raven...now that I know...can't we..." he took a big breath "can't we leave?"

Zhivago was startled.
"Where would we go?"

"Any other places than here? There's gotta he places that's accept you!"

Zhivago was grateful, but he knew the harsh truth. Nobody accepted him or Sellion, only Ban.
"It's a good thought, but such a place doesn't exist..."

"Then I'll make it!"

"What?..."

"I'll make everyone see that their wromg! I'll make a place where we can be at home"

Zhivago had tears in his eyes once more, but he decided not to commonly on that subject any further.
He was content with Ban's and Sellion's love.
"Come" Zhivago held out his hand. "It's time you meet your brother"
